I can see your point for some people. For me, I have a recovery kit, Jack, compressor, shovel, lights etc onboard.
Often, the most important question is not who will change the tire, but where the tire will be changed. Imagine a road, winding through the woods, with no shoulder, and trees within a few feet of the pavement. Roadside assistance? You bet, especially in darkness or adverse weather conditions. I think it costs $11/year on my insurance policy.

My 2017 mustang GT didn’t t come with a spare either. Came with a compressor and fix a flat type stuff from ford.

My Miata came from the factory with no spare, a small compressor, and a can of Fix-A-Flat.

I usually keep a can of FAF in my vehicles and if the puncture is in the tread I'll use it since it's very convenient. Always be sure to tell the tire shop that you put it in your tire.

Of course if the puncture is anywhere outside the tread area you're changing the tire out.

I've been looking at the Safe Jack kits; which one did you get and does it have enough lift?
John, I bought this kit here along with this bottle jack. I wanted one that was made in the USA. I know not everyone wants to spend $200.00 on a bottle jack but I'm not trusting my $40K truck to a $20.00 cheap Chinamart jack. ?

I've been eyeballing these for a while. This thread reminded me I need to pull the trigger. And just when I thought I was out of toys to buy.

@AzScorpion any reason you bought the jack separately instead of from Safe Jack's?

I wanted a jack made in the USA and the one from Safejack is a cheap China branded one. They make you think everything in the package is made in the USA but only their Safejack parts are.

I use scraps of 4x6 wood.

It takes something like 21,000 lbs to crush these.

I trusted the science enough to making my parking deck in my garage out of them...

Now that is a cool garage trick right there

Retired, work is a four letter word.
nice! i want a set of those also... I got a plan to paint them magnetic, to kinda match the wheels and sport package trim. I think it will look sharp.
You might look into getting them powder coated instead of painted, as you step on them (if you get the open plated option) and they hit 'stuff' so it will hold up much better than paint.

Today I had a bit of an adventure. I decided to install my wheel spacers on my 2” leveled tremor with the factory wheels and tires.

I started out trying the low profile floor jack I have for my 2010 STI. Unfortunately that would not lift the front high enough to lift the tire in the air.

I thought to myself, oh well, I’ll pick up a bottle jack soon for use in the future. I decided to use the scissor jack behind the back seat to do this job. Normally I wouldn’t use the emergency jack to work on the truck, but I wanted to get this done today. I’m actually glad I tried it out, because it turns out that with a 2” level the scissor jack does not lift the front tire off the ground using the jack points found in the manual.

I ended up running to harbor freight and buying a bottle jack which will now have a permanent home in the bed of the truck for emergencies.

Hopefully this can help someone before they end up with a flat, a leveled tremor, and no way to change a tire.
Yeah this is going to be an issue for anyone that installed a lift or leveling kit unfortunately. I cant remember the brand but there is an OffRoad Bottle jack kit i have seen that would work well for most of us at least.

you are gonna call someone to change your tire?
I never have but might if it's a down pour out an the wait isn't long. I've changed flats in down pours before, in 7 degree weather on the side of a busy freeway, on soft ground. At 57 years old with both shoulders patched together with surgeries I just might decide to sit one out. I do my own work on my upgrades to my truck an bike because I enjoy it. Pouring rain in the dark on a busy freeway isn't enjoyable. It is nice now that my kids are all grown an having great careers with nice new cars. I patched their college beaters together for them for years in cold, wet crappy weather now I can sit back an pick my battles.

On a side note: be careful changing flats on busy motorways. I know a lady who's firefighter husband was killed being a good Samaritan changing a flat on the side of the highway for a stopped car when a car hit him and killed him. He had 2 preschool aged kids.

The one I got at harbor freight will hold me over until my sliders arrive in the next month, then I’ll be able to use a high lift.
