New 2022 Velocity Blue Metallic Ranger Lariat 501A FX4 owner here. Wanted Tremor, but couldn't find one so decided to pimp it up a bit. Got the Ford leveling kit and performance tune done a few weeks back which made a huge difference on suspension and power. Just installed the Pedal Commander PC18 and what a difference that makes. Sport+ is almost unusable due to how fast the truck takes off. Now all i need is some offset tires and it's perfect. Gas milage sucks, but sure is fun to drive. I'm new to trucks and don't know much about tires and wheels. Was thinking of spacers, but don't want to mess this thing up. Any recommendations on wheels and tires to give it more of an aggressive look without needing to cut the crash bars? Love the forum. Thanks for any tips.

Adding a tune really wakes the motor up and takes away the lag and gives it just enough added hp.

As far as tires and wheels go I left the stock wheels because I couldn't find any I liked to go with the Saber color. Tires I went up 1 size with Nitto Ridge Grapplers 265/70/17. There's no need to cut or change out the crash bars going this route.

Do you have a link to the Ford leveling kit?

Thank you. Those look great! My Ranger's got 18's which I forgot to mention. I like the Nitto's.

^^ This, all day long. Tried, tested, proven, and looks as aggressive as much larger tires.

No issues, no rubbing, no crazy mpg drop, and no odometer that’s now way off.

For 18s, go with 265/65R18s - same diameter.

The cliffnotes on not cutting the crashbars and giving you a more aggressive look as you stated is 265/70/17 tires on the stock wheel.

+0 offset wheels stick out a decent amount
+20 is what I run (albeit on a wider tire)
+35 is barely any poke

I really love that set up! I can't tell from the photos, did you have to level or modify in order to fit those tires in that size?

So I have to ask, why buy the pedal commander when you already had a tune? Far as I am aware all the tunes on market re-adjust the e-throttle body to correct that particular lack-luster feedback from the pedal.

From what I hear about the pedal commander I feel like I'd crash through my garage with it. Or more likely drop it off for service and the tech does.

I figured I'd try it b/c even with the tune you still feel like there's a delay when you stomp on the gas. The PC is a bigger difference IMHO than the tune. The tune gives you more HP, but the PC gives you better throttle response. The tune was noticeable, but nowhere near as noticeable as the PC. Plus, only takes a minute to install and is a fraction of the cost.

Then maybe its just my tune (5-star 93 performance). I can press the gas pedal with my big toe and it will respond immediately.

If you have the tune, put your Ranger into Sport Mode, press and hold the traction control button until it tells you that the Advance Trac is disabled. Now drive it, at your own risk, then report back.
