Wow!!!! If you don't like an electric train and those childhood memories, then don't bother checking your pulse. You're already dead.

Edit: Just watched the video again. That would be view #4. Still grinning like a cow eating briars. ?

Thank you for posting that.

Edit #2: Sorry, too excited about the train. Way to go with your "major award." Love it's prominent placement, as it should be. Well deserved award no doubt!

(Jeez, how come all these guys get to have a leg lamp?! I don't get to have a leg lamp. Why the hell can't I have a leg lamp. Gonna talk to the boss lady. Just ain't fair.)
Good eye my friend, the lamp is only a mini! I've been wanting a full size, but the warden hasn't given the OK yet. One of our neighbors thought it was part of our "normal" house decor . The Lionel was past down to me as kid by my Aunt, nobody wanted it.

And here I was going to get you a damper for Christmas. ? Now time to decide, do you want a leg lamp or a damper?

You'd better say damper! ?
Ummm..... train:oops:..... but with a damper?! :whew:

So, yeah, I just spent 10 minutes wracking my brain trying to figure out what “major award” was. ?

First time hearing that expression.

In 1955 when I was born my dad bought a Lionel train set for under the tree. I should dig out of the boxes and see If it still works. Had little pellets that went in the engine that made it puff steam. Saved it for my grandkids but kids these days are only interested in electronic games.

We're not doing any indoor decorations this year, and our outside decorations are much scaled back...

Normally I line every roof line on our house, and our neighbors house. She is ~85 y/o and loves Christmas lights.

I'll go back and look for past years decorations tomorrow...

As a note, the figurinea on the roof are those old school hard plastic figurines - Santa and snoopy. Funny story, I found the snoopy on a bulk trash day one summer and brought it home. It didn't have a bulb and was dirty from being outside I cleaned him up, shoved an led bulb up his behind and he has been going strong for us, for almost 5 years.

I love those hard plastic figurines over those inflatables or those wire frame disasters. (we have a bunch of those things and they always rust).

I made this a few years ago. The cool thing is, I only need to put 1 string of lights on the house

I used to deliver a neighborhood that really got into decorating an one of the houses had something similar. Another had a mannequin dressed like Randy Quad in Christmas Vacation with a hose pointed to the gutter.

Hi Mathew,

I remember these smoke pellets. I had HO guage Flichmann train but my buddy, Doug DeForest had the lionel train set. I really did not like the third rail of the Lionel but buddy could not figure out how to load the pellets so I did this for him so we could see train engine smoke. Wonderful memories of my young years...

I still have my Märklin Train Set in the above shop storage.... I understand this set has some value but I loved assembling the German houses etc to create a village. Maybe I have to dig this set out this year as wife has the bah Humbergs this year...

best,
Phil
