Like Jeff, I live on Oahu and we actually live in the same neighborhood, if you live and work in the city it's actually hard here to put miles on a car. Plus at $5.75 a gallon of gas it hurts the wallet and he was correct about non attentive drivers here, they just don't care about anything other than themselves. I've driven 3000 miles in 1 year of ownership, I work 7 miles from home and only reason I have that many miles is driving to the Dump that is on the other side of the mountain. And for me if we go anywhere we take my wife's hybrid subie.

Damn I've had my 22 a month and a half, drive 3 miles round trip to work, ride a bike home here and there and I have 1600 miles. I bought it to use it, I hooked the hitch up and delivered a bike after owning it three days, out 590 miles on it that trip. Very cool it told me I had a trailer lamp out, lol smart ass truck

This site is turning into a Tacoma forum. What’s wrong with wanting a low mileage vehicle lol. It’s his money he can spend it and do whatever he wants with this truck lol. Man. This site is changing a lot lately with all the sex talk and cursing now flaming for having low mileage. Come on guys. Peace and love? Right Dave?
This is America, and you can spend your money on whatever you want.

But that doesn't mean it isn't stupid! If you don't want to drive because you're living in an area with high crime and terrible drivers, then why even have a vehicle? Especially at only 200 miles per year?? 15% of his miles are just from driving to get the bedliner sprayed in. Doubtful anything has ever even been in the bed. I'm happy that he owns a truck that he enjoys, who knows maybe it will be in a museum in 50 years with 10k miles on it lmao.

Just broke 10000 miles. 1 year and 3 months.

Come to think of it, I drove that on my old Jeep in 3 months. But then again, different time, different location, different work and 200 mile drive to work.

Wow Jeff, never would I have thought a Ford Ranger could be referred to as a "Garage Queen". :)

I think people are just confused as to what you did purchase it for, so they are trying to guess.
To clarify everyone's potential confusion, I bought it to be used and certainly not an "investment" as someone alluded to. To even consider a new, garden variety Ford Ranger as an "investment" gives new meaning to the word "absurd".

As it turns out, quite obviously, I don't use it very often.

It is my personal choice, that's all.

Lol, that conjures up this tune...https://youtu.be/xFrGuyw1V8s

Maybe, after a few beers and my very limited song lyric ability rears it's ugly head I just may adapt my Ranger to the tune

I might even be persuaded to dress in my leisure suit, long sleeve polyester shirt (un-buttoned at the top, of course), platform shoes and obscenely huge medallion...

I'm just curious why you bought it. Certainly would have been cheaper to buy a beater truck or just rent a truck the few times you might have needed it?
It was actually a retirement gift to myself.

Previously I owned a '00 S/Cab which I bought brand new in Nov. '99 and sold in Dec. '19 because the body started to rot severely, but it still ran great. As you can see it also had low mileage.

When Ford ceased Ranger production in '11, I vowed to myself that I would own one of it's replacements...the rest is history.
