Like Jeff, I live on Oahu and we actually live in the same neighborhood, if you live and work in the city it's actually hard here to put miles on a car. Plus at $5.75 a gallon of gas it hurts the wallet and he was correct about non attentive drivers here, they just don't care about anything other than themselves. I've driven 3000 miles in 1 year of ownership, I work 7 miles from home and only reason I have that many miles is driving to the Dump that is on the other side of the mountain. And for me if we go anywhere we take my wife's hybrid subie.
My last 4 years with HFD were spent as a building plans reviewer for mostly commercial projects for fire code (NFPA) adherence.

Our office was located at the Fasi Municipal bldg located @ King/Alapai streets, and was approximately 5 miles away from home.

We were also tasked with performing and witnessing the fire notification/protection systems in these buildings.

My primary assigned area was from Waimanalo to Atkinson Drive, from mauka to makai, because of this I was on the road quite a bit to perform my duties.

I owned a beater '99 Honda CR-V back then because my '00 Ranger (4.0 OHV V6) was eating me out of house and home with fuel costs to travel to these inspections.

The Honda was perfect for access to construction sites and so on, but it resembled a homeless person's car.

It was not uncommon for me to sometimes drive 100-120 miles a day, 2-3 days out of the week.

I sure saw a lot of imbecilic drivers on the road then, however it wasn't half as bad as it is now

Mine is certainly not as low as OP. But dropped my truck to dealer today and snapped a pic of odometer for records sake. My truck is a 2020 and that is kilometers.

I thought my 17,700 in 3 years (plus 1 month) was low.
I owned a 2000 S/Cab which I bought new in Nov. '99, sold it 20 years, 1 month later with 94K on the odometer...

Why such low mileage? Did you know you weren't going to drive it when you bought it,?
For me, I bought before Covid which put me on permanent work from home. Also, shortly after buying it my wife got a new job close to my office. We were commuting together until March '20.
