As a kid and helping my Dad around the house this was his "cordless" drill, instead of being rated @ just 1 amp, it was 1 arm power...lol

I remember those well. My grandfather had one and I never knew what happened to all his old tools. Knowing my dad he threw everything out.

This sorta just happened to me. My dad passed away last year right around this time too. He was 94 and it was from natural causes. He was an old hands on type of guy. So it’s understandable why I am too. He taught me when I was small about tools. If you’re going to buy them get the best. If you do they will last you a lifetime. Going through his things all the automotive tools were Bluepoint or Snap-on. All from the 1960’s. Same with wrenches, screwdrivers, just everything was a keeper.

My mom came outside (she’s 93 now) and said did you find anything worth keeping? I did a tool time Tim.

“Oh that’s good then” and she walks away!

Topped out at 109 here. Epic heat for the PNW. 3rd day in a row supposed to be in the mid 90's tomorrow. We are heat wimps here not everyone has A/C like a lot of other parts of the country
I do feel for those who do not have air conditioning and are not use to such high heat. I hope ya’ll get relief soon.

A beautiful, beautiful 82 degrees in Midland, Texas.

Hey Georgia boy, you just reminded me! I can’t believe I haven’t thought about mosquitoes or night time bugs in over two years! I can sit outside on the porch at night here, low humidity and no mosquitoes! Goddamn how I don’t miss the mosquitoes. My house in NY is in the woods so when I go back up in the summer and sit outside it’s going to be a relearning process.

Back in the mid 80's while still in the military I got posted to Borden Ontario. I thought it was hell on earth with temps in the high 90's plus a high humidex. There where some fire fighters training there from Jamaica who would be there for 5-6 months at a time. It was hilarious to see them bundled up in parka's during these hot stretches.

Sounds like Tito the Turtle is being taken care of !. A funny heat related story to that with a good ending. As a child I put a Hamster in a Liberty Ball " A clear plastic sphere" out on the lawn in the Summer to roll around. I forgot about the Hamster. Its like a magnify glass. I took the sweaty Hamster out and put it on a bag of ice. My Father did the old school remedy and gave it some drops of Whiskey. Amazingly it survived. I am careful with my dog's paws and try to walk in areas in the shade.

I know it well, my dad had one like it that I used in wood and small thin metal and a Milwaukee power drill that was housed in all raw aluminum I think...looked like an unpainted airplane...like Sky King's

It was 121°F (49.5° C) in Lytton BC today. The third day in a row it set a all time heat record for Canada.

Here we are caught between two stationary fronts and moist air keeps funneling through between them. Rain again and a high of 75° F (24° C)

Was kind of warm with the sun out, 68F, tomorrow will be a tad warmer, 71F. Is the weather worth being under Lord Gavin? Sometimes.
I've lived or worked or visited most of the United States and I believe San Diego has the best weather.

Agreed. I’ve always wondered what people would think after visiting a lot of different cities/states. It’s just you have to pay for the weather in terms of cost of living it feels like…

Hot enough to melt buildings. :)

We've hit 112-115 several days this past few weeks but then again that is actually normal for the Mojave Desert this time of year. Low humidity (15%) helps keep it comfortably tolerable.
