Have to say, got a little teary eyed reading this thread. This is probably the best automotive forum I’ve been apart of, and it seems like fine individuals are drawn to the Ranger. Hang in there WV, take a break, clear your head. As you can see, people give a shit. God bless brother.
  2. Should Farley be fired?

I’m not sure. I only know that each new successive Ford I’ve bought over the years has progressively been worse with build quality and reliability. Believe it or not, the Ford I have now, which is a used 2013 Ford eacape with the 2.5 4 banger has been the most reliable/durable. If I want to...
  3. Said Some Naughty Words

Ford’s f150 aluminum panels are durable enough. I was in a couple major hail storms in Texas in which neighbors’ cars/trucks near me were dented to shit with little popcorn indentations, yet I didn’t get any dents. Also, I see 2015 F150’s near me where I live now with zero rust or corrosion...
  4. FX4 or Locking differential

I live in a major snow hub, and on top of a 2000ft hill that gets major drifts and my preferred build is an Fx2 mainly for the locking differential and higher ground clearance. Tires do more for you in snow, I would concentrate on that when the snow flies and get whatever you want.
  5. 2024 Mustang to get new 2.3 dual injection engine

Anyone else think this will be the power train going into the 6g Ranger ? https://www.motortrend.com/news/2024-ford-mustang-engine-ecoboost-v-8-deep-dive/?wc_mid=4035:23623&wc_rid=4035:38395059&_wcsid=C57F9564745CB93D44A2F56AAF617939CE8D0FB7D1A587A6
  6. Ford EcoBoost Carbon Buildup Issue Solved Via Walnut Blasting

Interesting. I was just reading about Ford releasing a new version of the 2.3 in their upcoming mustang, one that included dual injection like the 2.7. I bet it trickles its way into the new Ford Ranger models.
  7. Rustproofing?

Good god. I know it’s just surface rust, but where I am there’s salt on the roads from November until April. I guess it’s part of the territory. It still makes me sick though, purchasing a brand new vehicle and just slowly watching it rust. You can see many older trucks and SUV’s still on the...
  8. Interesting info from dealer about current state of new car market

Interestingly enough, when I had my f150 in Texas for a couple of years, I went through a few major hail storms. Not small hail, big hail. Hail that dented others’ vehicles in which mine had zero dents. Whether that’s the way Ford did it or aluminum in and of itself I don’t know, or even if I...
  9. Interesting info from dealer about current state of new car market

I’ve still got my trusty 2013 Texas bought (zero rust) 120,000 mile 2.5 Ford Eacape. I think I’ll hold onto it for another year until the market cools and the new Ranger arrives. The ONLY thing I wanted Ford to do is make the body aluminum with the 6g. Seeing all the rust buckets around me makes...

Im kind of the odd duckling. Most move out and I move in lol. I can honestly see why so many leave this state. The laws are downright draconian. Beautiful geography! The southern tier pretty much starts my favorite mountain range in America. But goddamn, the laws in NYS are downright disgusting...
  11. Covid x 2

Get well soon! I am unvaccinated and I caught it back in February. My daughter is unvaccinated and she’s 6 - she got it right after me. I had a headache and felt a little weird mentally, but I shook it in about two days. My daughter had a few sniffles and that was it. My daughters mother, who...

Thats a good strategy. I’m sure you guys have visited New Mexico before? I love the state, it’s definitely not as hot as Arizona, but I guess they have water issues right along with west Texas and Arizona. Northern New Mexico is beautiful. I would have considered New Mexico myself, but the lack...

God I wish! I would actually love to do that. Get my pistol permit in Texas and Pennsylvania and just leave my gun snuggled up on Pennsylvania soil waiting for my return. That’s awesome. I’m definitely jealous. I’m sure you’ll love both places from everything I’ve heard from anyone who’s been...

I love Texas and if I ever move back it’s to the hill country. My daughter is a native born Texan and it’ll always be a second home. I have three states I’ll now follow politically, New York, Pennsylvania and now Texas ? Yeah Tennessee is beautiful, especially the Smokey Mountains. Love driving...

Love Watkins Glenn. Love middle PA too. I wish Allegheny and Steuben counties could remap into Pennsylvania. I can’t even complain about land taxes in Steuben county, I’m paying 1400 a year for 12 acres. It’s the damn draconian gun laws. Considering Steuben county is deep red, it’s not fair to...

West Texans are some of the nicest real people I’ve ever met. Have been on the side of the road out in the middle of 1-10 and had numerous people stop and offered water. During the ice storm a complete stranger offered me his spare generator. If I had my way I would replace half of the...

Nice, all great areas you mentioned. KY, WV would be the furthest south for me just because I love the Appalachian hills and because of the heat - even though I got used to heat, I’ve never gotten used to humidity lol.

thars a possibility too! I love West Virginia.
  19. I did it. I escaped

I have 12 acres in Steuben county NY, I’m a few miles away from the Pennsylvania border. My plot is on top of a huge hill and in the woods. It’s on a dirt road and hardly any traffic. After coming from oil country the quiet is almost eerie. Can’t see any neighbors. I know I’m going to curse...
  20. I did it. I escaped

Home, sweet home. I have left Texas for good and returned to Yankee Land. I felt like crying when I seen the lush green hills riding on 86. I thought to myself “this is God’s country”. The only thing I’ll miss about Texas is the general manners of people (much more polite) and Latinas. And the...
