Curious what January will be after the big Q4

It's hard to say. I know Ford's fourth quarter profits were dismal. There are still practically no Rangers in my part of Georgia; I had to wait four months on mine--ordered in October and took delivery Wednesday.

You know what the net margin is on every Ranger sold?

Ford sold a lot of Rangers in Q4, doubt they came close to losing money.

I think their overseas operations didn't do so well. The article I read stated that the losses incurred in the fourth quarter pretty much erased all the profits made in the previous three.

I also think a huge piece of the loss was the botched Explorer/Aviator rollout - they were shipping built units all over the place trying to fix them before sending them to dealers. It sounded like a huge mess and couldn't have been cheap.
That and those pesky pension obligations that snuck up on em. BOO

Howdy,
I added to the January sales figure. Bought a 2019 XLT FX4 with under 4K miles on it from their "rental" fleet. With all the rebates and discounts, got an excellent deal.
Speaking to numbers seen on the road, went to Holiday Valley NY for some skiing. Didn't see any on the road (other than the older models). I've seen only two others around here where I live in southern OH.

Am currently in SoCal. Beginning to see more and more of them. Saw where Ranger out sold all but the Taco 4th qtr. Don't remember the numbers. Still a long way to go as Toco is the segment leader by a large margin. Have also noticed Taco didn't really change much for their 2021 models. Ford has a good chance to make a larger dent in Taco's sales if they address the nits we've been talking about on this forum.

It was bad quarter for Ford .. 1.7 billion loss

So much they had to change some positions.

But Ford Ranger and the Chevy Colorado only do quarterly sales number now.
So not till April for them..
