  1. Extended Warranty---Buyer Beware

    Fair enough...Thanx.
  2. Extended Warranty---Buyer Beware

FWIW the warranty was purchased from the dealer at the time of vehicle purchase. Mad? I don't want anyone to be mad. Just be mindful of what is covered and what is not...like shop supplies and sales tax, etc. It is my problem...just don't want someone to assume like I did.
  3. Extended Warranty---Buyer Beware

Greetings, I think everyone has seen the ads about high repair costs and the extended warranty covering it. Not quite true in my case. Quickly...2020 Escape developed a AWD Fault. Took it to Ford dealer. Was diagnosed as Transmission Control Module. Not covered under Powertrain Warranty...

  6. 2019 Brakes 65,000 miles Front are 8mm. Rears are 3 mm.

My rear rotors and pads were toast at 34K. Front were fine. No idea why so soon and why the fronts were OK. Cost me an arm and a leg at the dealership. Posted on this, noting the price of ford parts vs ford parts from ford.
  7. Cautionary Note: Check Dealer Part Prices to Online Ford Prices (MSRP)

Are not factors to establishing a Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) by the manufacturer so that a fair profit is obtained by the seller and also giving the manufacturer cover because I was told that that was the price Ford charges (Ford gets the blame) when in actuality it was the...
  8. Cautionary Note: Check Dealer Part Prices to Online Ford Prices (MSRP)

Just had my truck in for this at 34,152 miles. They installed KB3Z 9D289 B. (Over) Charged me $192.40 for the part and $375 (3 hours labor). Codes were p0455, p0457, p04f0. Here is what he wrote. Performed pinpoint test diagnostics and performed evap system diagnostics, found purge valve...

  13. Post Quick Lane Report...Wheel Well Liner and Inop Auto Window Up/Down

Greetings all, Just wanted to pass along a couple of items from my Works Package and battery replacement. As (unfortunately) expected, the technician failed to replace the push pins that hold the wheel liner in place so make sure you check them. Had the battery replaced because it was near...
  14. SYNC update

Sorry to hear. This is why I haven't updated my Sync in like forever. The old adage, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Hope it gets resolved soon.
  15. Collision repair - Ford Dealership or Independent Shop?

I would go to whatever shop the insurance company prefers. This way, all the costs and satisfaction are borne by the insurance company.
  16. Fuel Economy

I just spent a week in Buckingham County Virginia doing missionary work. Own a 2019 FX 4. Roads basically flat. Speed limits between 45 and 55 on highways, 25/35 in a small town. Generally 4 pax and a bed full of equipment (tool bins/boxes, saws, etc...) averaged greater than 27 MPG on the...
  17. Truck "bucks" at slow, steady speeds

Could the transmission be hunting for the "right" gear? Seems like my truck wants to go to the highest possible gear all the time for better fuel economy.
  18. SYNC Black Screen of Death

This is partly why I have not updated my Sync system since 3.3 With no navigation, I'm not sure what the need is if everything is working properly and you don't necessarily need or want a change in color. Hope you get this sorted...
  19. 2019 MY Tire Pressure Indicator and Slow Leak

There it is. I could swear I went through that mention area while driving. The only thing it would show was which units to display the pressure in. Thanx
  20. 2019 MY Tire Pressure Indicator and Slow Leak

Thanx. I do. I was aware of the FordPass capability but I doubt it would be anywhere close to real time. Part of my passing on was my inability to bring up pressure on demand. Good to know for Lariat owners.
