I have been feeling the pull for a dualsport myself.

I'd already have one if it weren't for all the brain-dead zombies driving gargantuan SUVs while texting on their cell phones.
Same. I had no health insurance for the last 4 years so no bike. Mostly the only thing here I'd have to worry about is deer and sometimes cows in the road though. Looking at smaller bikes like a WR250X I used to have but they aren't common around here.

I think one thing for the OP to consider is interest rates. If (when) the Fed increases by another 3/4 points and rates jump how much more money are you paying for the life of the loan as opposed to any negotiated savings now? If rates jump just another 1% you may be in a wash situation.
Interest rates don't effect me as I could be a cash buyer if need be. My last 2 cars were at 1.49% and 1.79% so I didn't see the need to pay cash. The current rate at my credit union is 3.99%, which is about as high as I will go and carry a loan for any length of time. I'll never tell a dealer that I'll pay cash, I always just ask them to match my credit union. I'll pay it off as soon as I get the account information if I am not happy with the terms.

That's why I say if there's something on the lot close to what you're looking for try and make that deal happen. With the parts constraints and the manufacturers changing the rules whenever they want I'd grab what I can now.
Yup when I enquired about a dealer stock Ranger on the dealers website back in April, it wasn't in yet but said if it's the trim you like, you should put a deposit down on it to hold it, which is what I did and it finally arrived min June.

With rates going up, inflation, supply chain still wonky. I'm not sure things are going to be any better by Dec.

Just looked on my dealers site. No new Rangers. Had a used '20,26K+miles and 35,970, that's more than I paid for my 22 new but I looked a couple of weeks ago and they had no Rangers, new or used

Still have no idea why my dealer sold me a 2wd XLT nearly 4k under sticker in November (21 just before a few 22s showed up) with no special plan. Unless it was because I was in uniform; didnt do that on purpose I was leaving the office when my hatch broke on me. Maybe they were super patriotic.

The Maverick I ordered is still on a Toyota used lot for 37k today (28k MSRP). Someone flipped it... Now no one will buy it. Sitting since March and gained 30 miles of test drives.

Not the best comparison up here being small town and what not. But 42k - 52k for used. The highest being a 2021 FX4 Lariat for $52,995 with 7k miles. That 10k more than I paid for the Tremor. The lowest being a 2019 FX4 Lariat with nearly 50k miles.

Side note and not really related but not worthy of its own thread. Didn't realize in 2022 they started either allowing to order with or putting the Tremor grill on FX4's.

I started saying this back in the mid 1980’s. We produced much of what we used. Then the offshoring and moving operations to Mexico started. In the US back then the machine tool industry was 80 billion a year across all manufacturing. Within 2 years it went from that to 21 billion a year. That’s when we became a service economy and not manufacturing.

Here we are today, bunch of fat cats at the top and all us are arguing over the scraps. This isn’t rocket science. It was a calculated move to go to a one world economy with us pulling the strings!
Nailed it Rick. When one President started NAFTA I though this can't be good. And it wasn't. When another President started CAFTA I thought, this ain't gonna be good. And it was worse. This once great Nation is now a service industry, and sadly we have to depend on countries that hate us to supply our needs. Until "We the People" get out heads out of our asses it's only going to get worse. I just thank the Lord everyday that I won't live long enough to see this country go completely to hell in a handbasket. Because, I don't think the generations of today have the sense that Got gave a billy goat to even see what's down the road.

There, I said it, and I'm feeling much better now. :)

Please don't ban me Dave. I'll be good, I promise. :bandit:
