I'm surprised to learn that Texas still has annual vehicle inspections - less than 20 states still do
vehicle inspections are a pita, but I don't know how else you keep outright dangerous vehicles with no brakes and bald tires off the road

I lost maybe 1 mpg with a level. I go back and forth from stock tires and wheels to aftermarket with mud terrains. I get about 21mpg with 31” mud terrains and 23-24mpg with stock tires and wheels
It must be my 1,000lbs of gear...I get between 19-20 with my 33" that sticks out 2" on each side ? ?

My truck, with RTT, Diamondback, rock sliders, tools, camp gear, etc etc, weighs 5,500 lbs at around 15,000 mile mark ...I'm at 63,000 miles now with the same weight and there is no sagging at the rear...

Multiple studies have shown that safety inspections have little impact on road safety, states that have abolished them did so because of the issues with dishonest repair shops - which I personally experienced when I moved from a state (CO) with no safety inspections to PA . However given more and more people seemingly disregard regulations like lighting, tires extending well beyond wheel wells, exhaust noise, bald tires and so on . I will admit that in impoverished college days in Western NY I drove a clunker so rusted out that I had rags stuffed behind the headlights to steady them, no way would it pass an inspection so I made my own inspection sticker. worked well for over a year but a cop pulled up along side of me at an intersection and I could see him eyeballing my phony sticker, he pulls me over and cites me for driving without a valid inspection, I had pulled the fake sticker off the windshield and when he asked me about it I just said I don't know what you are talking about.

I'll just level the rear with the front once it settles I guess but I don't expect that to happen anytime soon or at all.

For me the purpose isn't just leveling. Its leveling up. Its lifting and giving some ground and tire clearance to the front. Its not all about it being level. Its about the height I want the truck to be at. If it was level from the lot and as low as the front then I would have lifted both the front and rear. There's not much to wrap your head around here.

I loved the Ranger when I first looked at it, but didn't like the 3" lowered front end "rake". When I ordered my truck I ordered a bunch of accessories to make it mine. Dealer delivered the truck to me on a Friday afternoon - Sunday morning I installed my BDS 2.5" front levelling kit with FOX 2.0 shocks in the rear. I also had larger tires installed at the dealer before it was delivered (32") I just like the more aggressive look to it, fits the tires better, and handles off-road better. It's all personal - make it your own!

The main reason I came to this forum was to see what other "mods" people were doing to their trucks, for both fun and function. Look out for common issues. Get an idea of cost, etc... It's funny to me that people come on to a forum and say things like "if Ford wanted it that way they would have made it that way..." why are you here? If your stance is, never change a thing, then why join the forum in the first place?
I also put cream in my coffee because I like myself :)

Back in our college days we had enough to make it to the packie store but failed our inspection. Mechanic said I’d we duct taped a flashlight into the passenger headlamp we would have passed! ?
