2020 Ranger, no problems until 59640 when the transmission went wacko. I hate service work because something always happens. I change my own oil.

I take the vehicle in to the best Ford dealer in my area which happens to be Auto Nation Ford. It's 30 miles one way. They replaced the transmission and I got it back in 7 days, two of those were a weekend. Seems okay, but still have the shutter between 30-50, worse at lower speeds. Probably an EGR or DPFE. I ordered an, EGR, sensor, going to swap myself.

The problem. When I picked the vehicle up, I walked all around it, all good. When I got home, the first thing I notice is that all of the inner liners had been removed from both sides of the wheel wells. I immediately called them up and they play stupid, and tell me they had no reason to take those off.

I had also complained about some engine noise which they couldn't find.

I detail my vehicle weekly, it's garage kept and they were on there, at least the drivers side when I dropped it off. They just don't fall off.

I don't even know the part numbers to order to replace them, as they are all gone.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My guess is someone was in a hurry and just didn't put them back on and they got caught.

Are you talking about the splash shields, the Left side you remove for the oil filter?

The manual calls for the RH side to be removed to access a coolant tube , and the LH side is removed to access the starter - so I call BS, they were removed to replace the transmission.

Have you talked to the dealership General Manager? I would go straight to the top Dog at the dealership.
Yes, they are all playing stupid. Guess I could call the Corp offices in Florida

I would show them their own manual that says they have to be removed ,and if they lost them or the cleaning crew tossed them ? no big deal tell them, but they should cowboy up and replace them and not sure how they could deny that... hell , back in my dealership days we would have walked right over to the body shop and "borrowed" some from a wreck and just order some for that one and hide it in the estimate if need be ... (sorry insurance companies ? but yeah, you paid for a few extra things here and there back in the day to help cover my and some customers collective asses... again sorry!)

I've seen them on Ali Express both sides for like $25. Our gen was in AUS for like 12 years prior and all over SE Asia. Ali's search engine is trash... just type in "PX Ranger" and keep scrolling till you find what you're looking for.

You might find some other items your interested in... the AUS aftermarket was massive down there for these trucks.

Wish I had advice for your problem, sadly it's your word against theirs. I certainly believe you... but to go the distance it'll cost more in time & money to make it right from your end and from their side they certainly lost a customer for life be it new vehicle or service.... over rubber parts that only cost about $25 or probably even less.

I'd leave a nasty review on google, that tends to get quick response from the service department.
Leaving a negative review with Ford Customer Service also accomplishes this.

I always get a survey emailed to me after using Ford service. I dinged a dealer (fairly) on a survey, and Ford stepped in.
