  1. I knew immediately what it was.....

A PPE shallow pan, Mike's Build Dipstick, trans filter, and 14qt is about the same price as having your trans serviced once. And the 14qt allows you to do a double drain and fill to get the vast majority out. Its certainly a messy job and that fluid stinks awful but its really not a difficult...
  2. 2019 FX4 Suspension

Yeah stock coils under a lift plate that hasn't seen soap at any point after install. Anything steel is coated in the cheapest paint money can buy. Just can't go the distance without corrosion. Nothing wrong with that setup and it being a 2019 factory FX suspension your pretty close to a set of...
  3. Hard shift into reverse from drive. Normal?

Don't sweat how long it'll take you to get everything. You're not in any really danger as long as you aren't pushing the truck too hard... like towing or flooring it everywhere. If you let it warm up (about a minute or two) and feather it while driving (not crazy slow just a casual drive style)...
  4. Hard shift into reverse from drive. Normal?

I did a full pan drop to change the filter along with a PPE pan upgrade to make future fluid changes quicker and cleaner.I also have a Mike's Build dipstick which I highly suggest. All of the above make a trans fluid change a breeze to the same tune of what a dealership trans service would cost...
  5. Hard shift into reverse from drive. Normal?

its transmission related... as mentioned previously warming up has a lot to do with it. The ULV fluid is crazy thin but and with no pressure built up from compression of moving parts & heat what you're experiencing is thermal pop. I realize you wrote it happens regardless of warm up, that is a...
  6. Wrapped Headlights

Not trying to be a smart ass but what is the point of wrapping them clear?
  7. Third transmission needed in 111k miles

OP, if you could go into details about this 4th gear symptom I'm interested to hear? 2nd question/follow up would be what if any preventative or required repairs/maintenance had you done leading up to the actual failures of the transmissions? I appreciate your responses in advance and am truly...
  8. Major Ford recall announced for trans related issue

Previously owned a 2019 Ranger before an elderly lady demolished it, ruining several years of building it up to the way I wanted it... starting all over with a newly acquired 2023 Ranger having salvaged a great deal off the old wreck but not everything sadly... Anyways I was stunned when I...
  9. #1 Spark Plug Broke I am in hot water now!

this looks like a job for medical foresnips!
  10. Upper Control Arms

Freedom Offroad uses an over-seas design used on the AUS rangers that were also over SE-Asia for the last 12 years... You can drop $440 on a set or grab one of the foreign sets off ebay or some other site like Temu or Ali Express for $105 like I did I ordered both as the design looks...
  11. Rear Diff Cover

I was interested in this too till I read some reviews... seems very B or W which seems odd to me, either it loses its coating or shows massive rust flashing after a short time... or is perfect in every way even after a year plus??? Maybe you could report back after 3 months? That's the average...
  12. 2023MY 60k Service Interval — Transmission Issues, Diff Service, and Fan

With the exception of the Trans servicing the drivetrain is pretty easy and doesn't require much for tools or fluid material. a 1/2" breaker and a catch basin is all you need... the total fluid nearly anywhere is only maybe $40 after tax? Most of the job is if like me waiting for every last...
  13. JXB Performance Driveshaft Center Support Bearing Upgrade preorder now

I get extreme angles are bad for driveshafts, but if lifts beyond 2.5" represent less than 7% of the community and maybe 35% of owners are level with a 2.5" lift what specific situation would this be a pivotal requirement?
  14. 10R80....Are they all ticking time bombs?

changing my fluid & filter when I installed a Mike's Build Dipstick and PPE pan it made a world of difference in everyday operation with fresh fluid and slightly more of it to aid in cooling. All in it was about what your average price on a dealer drain & fill would charge $500 plus tax. If you...
  15. DIY PROJECTS FOR RANGERS

You did a banger job.... A+ I wasn't thinking about it before seeing your pictures, but that tracked hanger system would be awesome on the underside of my diamondback lid for my shovel & axe.
  16. DIY PROJECTS FOR RANGERS

HA! no, just a truck bed full of gear sliding around when quick response is required from goof drivers around me... a sudden stop or lane swerve to avoid a crash. The amount of people who can't drive safely feels like its quintupled! I often as the question.... how have they not killed...
  17. DIY PROJECTS FOR RANGERS

I would like to see people's DIY bed organizers for those that carry something of a daily load of equipment. Personally I carry my EDC truck stuff more often than anything else, and having a slight slide problem. was thinking of building a layout made of wood that could be removed if needed. My...
  18. Wolfbox Video - 1st Impressions

been mulling this over in my head... there must be a way to splice into the existing camera without the need to cut anything. IDK enough about the infotainment unit or what the connector looks like, but an adaptor projecting the same image to two different devices isn't anything new. When I...
  19. Wolfbox Video - 1st Impressions

Dam you you're making it more affordable! I cannot be listening to this type of talk this close to the holidays. My kids will not understand the logic here :)
