How cold A/C?

It is probably the extended heat we have been enjoying suffering through. Something that just popped into my head on this when I hit Max AC today. Did you check all the vents. There have been some blend door issues and maybe a vent or 2 are not as cold or even hot.

my current situation, under low/medium fan speed I get what seem to be better than best case vent temperatures at the time of testing it was 101 in Texas, But at max fan speed it tends to get warmer, both done at idle, during driving at fan max speed temps drop to 50 range, little stumped

I agree completely, just pointing out other options. I live in AZ so I get it. Funny side note. Pictures of Sync 3 screens looked funny to me. I changed mine to Night Mode always over 3 years ago and pictures in Day Mode look odd. Not used to seeing it.

Have you checked the condenser for clogged fins?
At idle - it may be restricted, but when driving, you have ram air blowing across it pushing past the restriction.

That is actually normal. Air conditioning does not make cold air. It removes heat from air. The slower the air moves across the evaporator the more heat can be removed from it. There is your A/C 101 tip of the day. I had actually thought about posting that earlier in the thread, but never got around to it. As your testing shows that is how it works. My truck stays coolest with ac on recirc and the blower on 4-5 i never use max as it doesn't cool as well. And it was 106 here today.

Thankfully I've been seeing 40° out of the vents on my frontier. That's even with 96°

I have and they all blow the same "cool" air.

I just changed the display screen to full time Night mode. I do like that better. Thank you for showing the image of yours like that.

From my climate control thread

AC:
In Manual Mode - Drive the Temp (LO) and you should see a low Panel temperature reading, the actual reading will vary due to the ambient temp and humidity.
Some basic temp outputs for Ref:
70 Deg Day - Output Temp 35-40 Deg
80 Deg Day - Output Temp 45-50 Deg
100 Deg Day - Output Temp 55-60 Deg
The basic average is 35 to 40 Deg lower than the Ambient (Outside Temp)

If not near these (average) temps - I would check for debris blocking the condenser / radiator - very common to see build up in between them, before checking the freon charge

I saw no blockages and added a can of Freon. One can brought down the temps considerably while at a stop. That pipe seems to be a little....oily. The first temp pic was when I was on my way to get a can of Freon, and the second was after adding it. I may actually be able to turn down the fan speed for my future drives to work! Sorry OP, I didn't mean to hijack your thread
