Insurance Tip from an accident we had last year...
You did not hit the deer - the deer hit you.

If you hit it, you are at fault.
If it hit / struck you, then it is at fault.
what about a rouge tree? them things use to hit me all the time in my old truck! would just jump right out at me on the trail i mean road!

Canada just pushed some ban on guns through today...not sure of all the details, but it sounds like any and all centre fire semi auto rifles with a removal magazine.
So, this just gives a whole lot of deer and moose a free pass.
Free passes = more auto accidents.

Almost hit a herd at 35 today. Lucky on the deer, but did back into a mail box the other night. White post black box never saw it in the camera . Lucky only paint missing but impact site was just right of the camera. Maybe 3mph tops.

I dunno, sounds like BS to me. Deer stikes are almost always unavoidable. Nobody tries to hit deer. When I had a turkey strike, I was not asked "did the turkey hit you or did you hit the turkey"?

More to why I think this is fake news
" A deer is a wild animal. They are unpredictable, and they are fast. They can dart into the road so quickly that they can be impossible to avoid. For this reason, car insurance companies do not consider hitting a deer with a car the fault of the driver. Instead, hitting a deer is considered an unavoidable accident. ".

Plenty of good deer rifles without a removable magazine.
