No way. Sorry to see your truck take that damage. Since you are in my area, I'm in an east-side suburb and we have a deer problem. Mind donating your truck for the cause? I was just joking this morning with a neighbor that I ought to throw a cargo carrier on the hitch and "not see" one behind me.

They are a menace in my neighborhood - have killed multiple magnolias, cherries, etc.

One got my wife’s mustang, front fender, door and hood.

2018 one ran into my GMC truck while standing still….right through the rear right passenger window, got 2 doors, front fender and rear quarter panel…some kind of whirligig maneuver.

Wow Jim, the amount of damage from that encounter really is remarkable. It’s too bad about your truck but I guess you’re lucky you can still drive it while you wait for parts to come in. Saddest part of that is, it’s on the driver’s side and you have to look at it each time you get in.

Glad you’re safe - here’s to better days ahead.

As a fellow brand new '22 owner myself, that sucks man. I feel your pain.

I hit one (or rather it hit ME) in my '15 Corolla about 5 years ago. Dumbass deer ran right out in the road and although I swerved, he still bounced off me. Swerving turned a frontal impact to a side, so I'm glad I did. Did around $3500 damage.

I have had a few close calls this year. It's central Va. It's normal. But the closest call I had was just inches (it seemed) when one ran across the road in front of me, with a freshly harvested buck on the back! Didn't even have time to hit the brakes, just luckily missed it.

Insurance Tip from an accident we had last year...
You did not hit the deer - the deer hit you.

If you hit it, you are at fault.
If it hit / struck you, then it is at fault.
