Coming from 25 years of driving F-150's, I traded to a slightly used 2021 Bronco Sport. 9 months of that and could not wait to get out of it. Noisy parts all over the place and an engine that sounded like an old fashioned cartoon jalopy. Recall after recall. Finally an oil change came due and the rear end was also making a thumping noise when starting out about 2 weeks prior. Oil change day arrived and I saw a used 2019 Ranger. I traded. 3 weeks later when i wanted to have some scheduled maintenance done for the Ranger, my salesperson saw me and told me i turned in the BS just in time, They had to replace the whole rear end, (only had 22k miles)

My new to me Ranger has had a transmission drain and fill, new transmission filter, seal ring and reset. A PCM reprogramming, New spark plugs, new rear shocks, new catalytic converter, a tailgate damper I installed myself, hood alignment issues i did myself, new air filter, new cabin air filter, new tires that I reduced to 34 PSI as the dealer had them pumped to 40.

The ignition bezel was missing so I bought one for $10. I added Bushwacker door sill protectors, rear and front mud flaps and step bars. It feels and runs fantastic. So glad to be back in a truck! The Ranger to me is all the truck you need and nothing you dont.

Welcome. Glad you are happy with the Ranger. Too bad about the problems you had with the Bronco.

35,000 miles until the trans goes poof
Thanks! headed to twice that mileage. Its easy for forums to bring the bad issues out front. I belong to many forums of different topics. Typically the small percentage of bad stuff makes it sound like everyone faces the same issues. Same everywhere whether talking about trucks or guitars.

I'm a little curious why it needed a catalytic converter at 60k. Was it stolen?

Either the truck truly sucks as some would say here or the dealership was right. There apparently was a TSB on it They said they just replaced it. My FordPass gave me warning about it the day I went back for shocks, plus the engine light on. Something about emissions. didnt cost me. I had to wait two days for them to get it and I kept the vehicle on site. So I assume they did. My dealer has been very good to me and my family. Lots of cars purchased there and serviced.

Interesting you asked the same question one of my crew asked me. He's an old timey mechanic. He asked the same thing.

Something that is important. The latter Way more important than it should be.

That stupid missing ignition bezel is a Ford thing. I got a cheap 3d printed one. No idea what they saved on not installing that... but it seems silly.
