Have any of you guys hauled anything heavy in your ranger yet? I haven't, probably will be hauling some barrels of anti freeze or methanol. I'm curious as to how much can be hauled in a ranger.

A 4x2 supercaab can carry a max of 1800 pounds (includes you and EVERYTHING else in the truck).
The max for your truck is listed on the tag by the driver's door.

Loaded 500 lbs of corn sacks and drove 300 miles to the deer lease. Didnā€™t even notice it back there.

I had my truck for 2 days and hauled 11 sheets of 3/4 CDX plywood - it sticks out a bit with the 5' bed but it drove great. Hardly could tell I had a load. I don't know how much they weighed, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were 50 lbs a piece.

Edit: Actually, according to this website:

http://www.derose.net/steve/resources/engtables/materials.html

They weigh 68 lbs a piece, so that means I was hauling about 750 lbs! Wow! It did GREAT!

The only bad part was that somehow I dented one of the wheel wells doing that - not sure how, but oh well, it is a truck.

I put 1300 pounds of bags of garden soil in my truck today and made two equal loads.
The truck drove much like it was empty and I didn't even get it to squat enough to bring the the rear down to level.
It looked and felt like it would have easily handled the whole 2400 pounds (not recommended)
As with all its predecessors... This Ranger is a real Truck ...
and not just a Toy-Yoda:giggle:.

So I didnā€™t haul anything heavy but being this is my first truck I was excited to be able to haul home a 16ā€™ piece of crown molding
You got home without a ticket? In Ohio, they require a red flag on any item extending pass 1 foot of the vehicle in the back.;)
BTW - nice color on your Ranger.

Home Depot has those red flags at the exit for those who need one. And a staple gun to put them on.

Hauled a load of black magic mulch , probably 800 lbs. The kind they load the truck with a backhoe, not bagged. . The truck sat down maybe an inch.

Pretty sure in MI its 4ft. Don't know about FL though, but that's an interesting thing I should revisit... I know my kayaks currently extend more than a foot, and the bikes for sure.
