Crash avoidance / automatic braking - has anyone tried it?

I like it I guess, only had it go off once and hopefully not encounter a similar situation again.

Fairly loud beeping. Didn't have it autobrake but did stiffen the pedal for me.

I have had mine go off a few times on windy roads when I am driving in a spirited manner. Have never had it apply brakes though. I can't imagine this working at all for a deer just suddenly popping out in front of you, but in a driving situation where a car in front stops suddenly, I can see it being helpful.
RADAR spots birds as well as aircraft.... I guess I thought it could see a deer! Smile - what do I know! I have not even looked at the technology used to enable this feature.

Lets say the system activates within 1/2 second to apply brakes...
1/2 Second for a computer is an eternity. I'm not sure how Ford designed or programmed the system, but things can happen in nano or microseconds if needed.
