They weren't to good until I let about 20 psi of air out of them. Now they are great. With less air in them they ride nice. 15,000 miles on them now, wearing like iron.
I drive mine in the snow everyday for work. I had to get cooper st max 10 ply tires. That was all that was availble. I aired them down to 28 psi. They do pretty well at that inflation, but for the serious stuff I chain up. This little ford goes about anywhere.
I've been using chains on mine at work the last few days. It looks like I'll be needing them quite a bit this coming week according to the weather forecast. I always run chains on the back, always have. The front end is easier to tear up. Too many moving parts there.
I just replaced a set of stock size dura tracs with 41000 miles on them I had one flat. Ran a piece of metal through it. This is a company truck, so I have to run what the want. With that said, i have never had a better set of tires than the dura trac's. I drive off road at least 70% of the time...
