Ok, so there's a real easy way to fine the wire.
Go to Home Depot or Lowes and get one of those wire tracers that have a transmitter and receiver. They are usually used to find internet or phone wires in a house. Hook the transmitter to the BLUE trailer brake wire on the 7-plug in back...
I’m a rural new Ranger owner and have only seen 3 others.
But feel like it’s a very useful rural vehicle.
It’s much better off-road than the F150 or SuperDuty. Narrower, better approach and departure angles, much better turning radious for switch backs, and better traction system. My F250...
My back seats are usually removed and the space full of tools.
But this morning I had to take my adult niece and nephew and a friend to the airport so both back seats were put back in and everyone fit for the 35 minute trip to the airport.
No regrets.
I installed a Wifi access point in my garage and setup Sync to connect to it. I have never been prompted for updates. Never had to do anything, and my Sync is on 19052.
It just seems to keep itself updated automatically.
I have wifi in the garage and setup the ranger to connect to it soon after it came home. I have never seen an update prompt message and the Sync layout totally changed during the last few days.
It will pop right back in. There is a retainer snap ring you don't want to mangle or break.
If its completely apart, make sure the snap ring is ok and use a small screw driver to start it in correctly. Once its started a blow with a soft hammer or hammer with piece of wood will pop it right...
This over aggressive braking happens a lot for me. Even when no possible collision is about to occur. On mine the complaint would be that the brakes are often too intense. Never mushy ever.
The running boards interfere with ground and side clearance. After bending and breaking several running boards I went without them on the Ranger.
Just depends on how much off-roading you plan to do. Running boards aren't compatible with serious offroading.
This is similar to what I saw when I experimented. Though some claim the 12v is present without the engine running which I did not experience.
The 12v can also be used for things like trailer interior lights. I need to check my horse trailer and see if its light turn on with the ranger...
My 10 ton utility trailer has an indicator light on it that shows when the battery is charging and it comes on when the Ranger is connected.
I think this is separate from the brake controller and know in my F250 there is a 30amp fuse for this that can blow of the trailer isn’t wired correctly...
@19SilverRanger did you ever solve this?
Mine when I back out of the garage idles slow and rough and vibrates/shudders. Built in mid April. It’s like they keep the idle too low when cold.
That 12.7v won't last long with anything drawing power and with cars these days, there is always something drawing power. You would have to disconnect the positive the instant you stop driving and then wait and check. Or top it off without it connected to the car.
And the new charging in...
