But if you post stuff thats easy to ridicule, dont be surprised when folks actually ridicule you!

Sounds like you had fun, I used to do stuff like that too...when I was 16 and drove a $450 '76 Chevy Malibu primer-mobile..

Kinda like this one, we called it the "RAT" I was working in a body shop after school at the time and had access to a junk yard, lots of free used tires to burn up and as a joke the older guys helped me fill the bumpers with cement and welded I beams so they would not move in-ward, jammed some truck springs/shocks on it and went garbage-canning on trash day. Many streets looked like airplane wreckage after me and my crew were done blowing down the street..

THEN I grew the F-up and realized that you cant act like a fool all your life.

One hard lesson I recall was we kept f-ing with this one guy, I cant remember why. But we kept nailing his cans, this was back when everyone was using metal cans. Well he finally figured out he'd clean our clock and put one can out farther then the rest, unbeknownst to us filled with bricks. Like a bull we were a block away, like 1a.m. lights off and charged that one at like 40mph. We were not expecting the noise like two freight trains colliding on an otherwise cemetery quiet street. It took us a moment to realize we were had, badly. This pissed off dude came running out of his house swinging a bat, pipe bender or something like a crazy person.
We got the hell outta there and never returned, that might have been the final trash can event if my memory is right.

Not proud of that time in my life, I was grossly un-supervised and had a ton of home/personal issues that made me angry and reckless. At 17 I went to work for the Colonel and my life changed, at 19 I met my girl who I'm still with and enlisted as an SP in the USAF. I'm 52 now.

We all grow up in different ways, at different times and with the help of special people who luckily come into our lives when we need them most.

..that's my Sunday Sermon.
Thanks for the laugh.

Thought y'all might get a laugh from the fact I'm actively seeking a spare engine/transmission for my Ranger in anticipation of irreparably damaging one or the other with similar shenanigans as the OP. Soon as I find a deal it's going in the garage for safe-keeping. Ranger drivetrains aren't as much as you'd guess either.

I fully endorse beating the snot out of your own machine so long as you can live with the consequences. I won't pay someone to fix my stuff when I break it, but usually I can fix it myself and .... I've actually learned a lot that way over the years. Heck sometimes I try to make it better when fixing so it won't happen again.

Let's see a vid next time OP.

That's not "hard driving", it's just abusing a vehicle...that's probably financed with someone else's money.

Counter-acting the throttle return spring is not a skill. If you want to learn about driving or riding, take a driving or riding class. My background includes being an expert-licensed road racer and road racing instructor. I've ridden the world's most deadly race course (the Isle of Man TT course), and driven the world's most famous race course (the Nurburgring), both at triple-digit speeds. I've been over 200 mph on a motorcycle, and paid my bills for a few years driving in NHRA Pro ET. There's a whole big world out there beyond grinding down your all-season radials...

Hi Sheepdog,

Okay...been around Nurburgring several times...Licensed SCCA National License racer. Top speed for me was behind the wheel of a bush grand national car at 187mph... I was a team engineer at the time but knew how to drive a racrcar...

I guess you are not alone in this process. I created a SCCA series called the Racetruck Challenge which is chronicled here on these forums. I know how to make a car handle.
And...that and $5 gets me a coffee at Starbucks...

All I got to add to this conversion is this:

They are brakes, not breaks.

Also my eye twitches when someone says, "I am going to the ATM machine" which is effectively saying "I am going to the automatic teller machine machine"

Cool. I was hoping that you and I would get to speak. When did you retire? I was a Ford Technician up until late 1990.

I also have been appointed to Chevrolet's National Advisory Board. That and $5, will get me a cup of coffee at Starbucks...

Several things come to mind, after reading the comments afore, especially from Sheepdog.

No matter your endeavor, whether it be your family, your job, your hobby, or your passion... If you want the best enjoyment out of whatever turns your crank, you have to participate! Sometimes, that participation requires huge amounts of cash! Yet sometimes, just buying a bleacher ticket to watch a match of skill (whatever it is), is enough for some folks. But...

There is one thing you shouldn't complain about, is the cost to participate, or the envy towards those who choose to go all out! It is, after all, a manner of degrees.

Mine will burn 1st and 2nd by disable traction control and put it in sport mode and floor it
interesting, I'm going to have to try this out again, as in my experience this wasn't this easy...

I'm wondering If my altitude(7000FT) is losing me some power, especially in the low torque zone with the turbo.

Ill be sure to videotape to really give the grouches on this thread something to complain about :giggle:

Go big or go home! Chirping a right rear isn't going to cut it.

Not that one. Positive Crankcase Ventilation.

“VIN number” works though lol

VIN only
VIN = vehicle identification "number "

so VIN number = vehicle identification number NUMBER

Sorry im a bit OCD

stuff
Was out and about last night and got a little bit wild with some friends and other trucks(safe, open roads, no other people around!)...
Had the Ranger at WOT multiple times, multiple attempted burn outs ect. I’m glad to report it handled it very well, temps didn’t even get too high! To get it to spin the wheels good I had to put it in sport and apply breaks and gas at the same time btw. Have a great rest of the weekend and have some fun out there!
Why I never buy used.

Hold down the traction control button for about 5 or 7 seconds. It completely turns off the advanced trac, traction control everything. Just be careful, this truck does not turn at all, it is real, real tight and pushes into every turn. But its a pickup not a mustang. Have fun
