Hold down the traction control button for about 5 or 7 seconds. It completely turns off the advanced trac, traction control everything. Just be careful, this truck does not turn at all, it is real, real tight and pushes into every turn. But its a pickup not a mustang. Have fun
It WILL turn. It just takes a good amount of convincing. Higher speed turns seem to help

Also, my experience is that Advancetrac cannot be fully turned off. Even with the long push and confirmation it WILL shut things down at some point. It might be just the "roll stability control" that remains active, but something is still on.

Looking at the manual it seems RSC will only be disabled in sand mode.

I can tell you this: You do NOT have to torque-stall a tuned Ranger, to get it to burn rubber. And you don't have to use Sports mode either. Just turn off the traction control!
And it's a lot easier on the mechanicals than a Neutral drop...
But tires, well, they ARE replaceable, consumable items. Wanna play, gotta pay. But don't dump your transmission in the street just for fun. Tell the computers it's FUN TIME, and go for it...

I have a 4x2 xlt. If i take a round about to fast, or a turn too fast i go straight:( i am no nascar driver by any means, i know there is some technique to it. My wifes mustang turns no problem. Of course a sports car, sport suspension.
And not being able to completely turn off the nanny is annoying, i noticed it is never fully turned off. Do some beach driving, yes no 4x4, very hairy, and on mud and sand i do notice i still have a nanny somewhere, makes it annoying trying to use old school dumb car carburetor techniques. So is the way of new trucks, adjust and adapt
I could have gotten a 4x4, but payload, and the 100 yards of mudholes i travel in 3 months and the one soft piece if sand i go through once a month......i didn't see the need. Still don't. Even at the deer lease, if it rains. I stay longer! Lol.
But this truck is great! Use it to do work and pull trailers, and haul stuff. Works like my old 1980 f250! (Not really, i can tell when i have a trailer and load. My old 1980 f250 pulled and carried like nonones business 9mpg empty or pulling, or loaded, 3 spd, brakes bigger than ranger rims) long post,
Moral of the story, good truck the ranger is.

The chassis is definitely designed to push, but given enough of the go peddle she'll break loose a little, S mode with Advancetrac off. I've found that standing on the go peddle hard on entry and flinging her into the corner hard will get you sideways for bit before what I believe is the RSC kicks in.

Definitely no Mustang. But I've had a lot of fun cars in my life, and paid a lot of "road taxes" to various jurisdictions. My Ranger helped me get my first one of these though, hooning an on-ramp while unaware of the cop nearby.

Not sure if you can swap the switch and ForScan in Terrain Management on a 4x2. But if you can and if sand mode disables RSC and all nannies it might be worth it to you.

Good trucks indeed.

Was out and about last night and got a little bit wild with some friends and other trucks(safe, open roads, no other people around!)...
Had the Ranger at WOT multiple times, multiple attempted burn outs ect. I’m glad to report it handled it very well, temps didn’t even get too high! To get it to spin the wheels good I had to put it in sport and apply breaks and gas at the same time btw. Have a great rest of the weekend and have some fun out there!
You bought it, enjoy it how you see fit.

Reminds of a story some years ago of a friend who got a ticket. On it was written "exhibition of acceleration". If you're going to get a ticket that sounded like a pretty cool one to get.

Right!

They're surprisingly steep though. 5 points, and apparently they take tire chirping pretty serious. Only plead it down to a 4 point careless.

One of my better (dumber) ones.
