Which seal did you use ? Install details ?
I used the extang seal and followed their instructions. I didn't need to do the bottom since I have a BedRug. One thing I found - don't forget to seal at the top of the tailgate - the little piece along the plastic cap. If you just seal the bed, it will cut down a lot, but that hole at the top allows a lot of dust in.

Edit: Here is a picture of the spot I'm talking about - this is from an install guide for a different seal, but you get the idea - I did it slightly differently, but if you don't make sure that is covered it is a big hole.

I ordered this from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/ESI-Ultimate-Tailgate-Taper-Ranger/dp/B07YF5BL8M/ref=sr_1_8?crid=2EJ5KRXU2QJI8&dchild=1&keywords=esi+tailgate+seal&qid=1603549271&sprefix=Esi+t,aps,202&sr=8-8

Unfortunately, it has been too cold here in Siberian Minnesota to install. If it warms up I'll give it a try.

Edit: detailed install instructions.

I installed this exact kit a week or two ago. After driving over a dusty range in Texas, gravel roads in North Carolina, and gravel roads in Missouri....I'm very happy with how well it keeps dust out!

Thanks! I might have to give this one a shot. I don't know how I hadn't found it yet.

Good to know it's working for you! If it's actually installed by someone else and works for dust, that's a huge selling point for me!

Sounds good. I will be warming up the garage and installing this week.

Having already tried Extang Maxseal, according to https://tailgateseal.com/ you didn't miss it. Looking at the install process specific to the Ranger, you have to stick a bunch of short pieces on to close up the enormous gaps. Pretty hokey. Maybe the tailgate is on the list of changes for 6g.

edit: it's a kit specific to the Ranger, so I'll let Emily Litella respond for me.

It finally got warm enough to install the seal. Easy enough to do. Now to see if it works. On a side note, whoever designed the tailgate probably should have consulted with the box designer. Having to patch in bits and pieces of weather seal into different places is ridiculous.

Agreeeeed. This was a massive fail on Ford's part.

Keep me posted on how that seal goes, at this point I'm leaning towards that than hacking up my own solution if it works.

I am going to run it through the car wash tomorrow. I'll report back the results.
