Hello I was wondering if anyone is having this issue. I have a 19 ranger with the fx4 package and when ever the knob for the 4x4 is physically cold I can’t press the TM button or shift into 4x4. After running the heater for a while and the knobs physically warms up I can use it normally, anyone else have this issue? Should I just replace the knob?

My selector works as it should in all weather conditions - I do not have TM option but it works to select 4x4 or 2WD, sometimes accidentally when I’m monkeying around trying to retrieve my wallet or sunglasses from that forward cubby. ? Maybe it needs a good cleaning.

I'm with others here thinking you got some moisture in there from water, soda or whatever beverage you like in there. When cold it's most likely freezing. A pain yes but what it is

i had that problem with a window switch, had to really mash that sucker to get the window up and down. turns out the 44 ounces of big red i spilled during an emergency slam on the brakes was the culprit.
