Mid to late 2022 is when they started switching to metal fenders. Maybe around march?
My April built ranger has steel fenders.

Maybe they just ran out of aluminum foil, you know, the real thin stuff, to build fenders out of ...

Tin Foil probably went way up in price like everything else, so they decided steel was cheaper.

This is legit.

I believe it's about the same timeframe as when the spindles also went from aluminum to steel.
The switch on spindles was mid 2020. I have a Nov 2020 build and it has steel spindles and aluminum fenders, tailgate, hood and bumpers

Huh? I thought all the body parts on Rangers (2019's anyway) were steel save the tailgate?

Is this legit? I found this while searching for TSBs. I may have missed this, haven't been on in a while. I have a 2021, but the fenders are definitely aluminum.

Summary: The 2021 Ranger front fender material migrated on 22-Apr-2021 from aluminum to steel. Additionally, service replacement fenders for 2019-2022 made of aluminum are no longer available. When replacing a front fender on Rangers built on or aft
Yes, during the re-negotiation of NAFTA as the USMCA, the U.S. placed a hefty tariff on aluminum from Canada. I think there was also a 25% tariff on aluminum from China at the same time. It just wasn’t worth it for U.S. manufacturers to import it and then pay the extra, so they switched to steel where it made sense for them to do so.

Does that mean my light weight Ranger is faster and gets better mileage? ;)
No, it means if you look at your Ranger's aluminum fender wrong it will probably leave a dent....
Medium size bug strike would likely destroy it.
My 2021 has the alum. and i always look real nice at my fenders.

My steel fenders are paper thin, I can bend em with my little pinky finger so I don't think theres any difference other than speed of corrosion if the paint came off.
