I am curious if a scan for codes would show anything in history, it just might point to possible cause of this quirk. It would need to be done soon, before it clears in history codes. (If Any)

skynet having too much server traffic so the matrix glitches on the 5g sometimes... mines done it once. One minute things were normal. parked, went in the store got a few things came out truck was a paper weight. fiddle around under the hood with battery terminals and tried again and it fired up like normal. i didnt really fix anything. it just decided to go.

Mine did this once. Drove to a Halloween store on lunch break. Came out of the store 20 minutes later and truck is stone dead. Nothing works, no lights, anything. Pop the hood, wiggle battery, wiggle grounds, etc. Nothing. About to call for a ride and I go on Fordpass to see if anything happens. Try unlocking the doors, and the alarm starts going off. Hood was still open. After that, the truck was fine and never happened again. I'm a 29 year Ford Technician and I have no clue. Swear Ford took the truck offline for a bit to upload data. Truck only had a few thousand miles at the time. I see many complaints of the exact issue with no explanation.

This is better than the Colorados battery murder OTA update.....

So far this hasn't happened to me. It will tomorrow now that I said that. At least I know to give it 10min or so and poke at it to see if the power relay responds.

My oh no moment happened during a tune upload... really it was the crank sensor CEL that followed. That was fixed easy enough once I calmed down and worked the problem vs panic. So.. no panic if mine decides it's nappy time and pulls out the blue and red mat.

2022 XLT 302a - Delivered 7/30/2022, 11500 miles:

I drive to work about 3 days a week. 20 miles interstate. Went to lunch and truck drove fine. Left for the day about 4:30 and the truck wouldn't remote start. Ok, maybe out of range. Go out front door and truck is unresponsive. Tried unlocking with FOB, no dice. Had to unlock door manually with key. Truck acted as if there was no battery in it. Tried to turn it over with the key, no response. I closed the door and was ready to call my wife, so I opened the driver's door. after a few seconds a message appeared on the screen. Something like "Start Engine to disable alarm". I can't remember exactly what it said. Anyway, i tried the key in the ignition and she started right up like nothing happened. That was Thursday. I drove it to work today and it was fine coming and going.

Anybody else have something similar happen?
Happened once to me but mine was a gateway module that went bad.

Our trucks have how many? 25? 35? more? And they have to talk to each other?
The only surprise is that it happens so seldom.
Reboot, reboot reboot.

Welp... this is me this morning. Going to get my key fob now. Was out in the garage grabbing some stuff put of the truck. Realized when I opened the door... nothing. Zilch. Goose egg. Just drove it about 40 miles Sunday with no issues.

So here goes nothing....

Update: Grabbed key fob. Back to garage. Tried opening door again just for the hell of it. NOTHING. Dead. Graveyard dead. Closed door. Sipped coffee. Scratched. Pulled fob out of my pocket and hit the unlock button. Boom! Truck came to life. All is good. Climbed in and started it just to be sure.

What the hell? Seriously, what the hell??

So, if you did not try to start - before it came to life, then the issue revolves around the courtesy light timer within the BCM. This is a timed based issue, per my in depth look into this mysterious issue. So, 3 to 10 minutes, depending on which circuit is stopping the BCM from seeing a wake-up call to action.
Do you remember the time frame?

Let's see... noticed issue. Pulled up forum to quickly research. Made my initial post. Grabbed fob, etc. I'd guess I did NOT exceed that 10 minute threshold. 5 -6 minutes maybe?

Edit: Just read your entire post on this particular occurance. Wow! Really appreciate your insight into this issue. As well as all of the others you have posted about.

I had something similar start to happen a while ago, though my symptoms were a bit different, for me it turned out some of the cells of my battery had gone bad. This happened regularly though if I waited more than like 15 hours between driving it or having it on a trickle charger. If it only happened once and the battery is fine I got no clue.

This happened to me yesterday, drove truck for about 30 mins, parked it, was somewhere for about 2 hours. came back to a dead truck. backlight to the nav screen was on and the lights around the USB charging ports were on. Truck would not respond to anything. Left it for the night, came back in the morning, truck still dead, screen and port lights were off. Checked the battery with a multimeter, it was fine. Decided to disconnect the battery, did that for about 10 secs, once i reconnected the battery, everything came to life like there was no issue. It was/been very hot in Maryland for the past 3 days, like 100+. I parked in a parking garage with the nose of the truck near a concrete wall, could something have over heated? any idea what caused all this?

Mine did similar yesterday after being parked 15 minutes. Wouldn't open, when I used the key, truck was unresponsive to turning on the ignition. Opened the app to access roadside assistance, and on a whim asked the app to unlock. Truck unlocked and everything worked. Just fine.

I can't imagine what the experience would have been like if I was out on a back road with no cel reception for the app. :(
