Is it possible to code out my ‘21 Ranger XLT’s need for a ACC sensor to give me regular cruise control functionality?

I have rebuilt a totaled Ranger and just don’t want to really replace it’s missing $500+ sensor. I don’t care for adaptive cruise and can live without crash detection. After replacing front bumper, grill, parking sensors, etc cruise control is disabled without the sensor. Lane keeping is also disabled, but I can live without that as well.
I hope you've gotten the help you asked for by now.
I did not like the adaptive cruise at first, but have come to enjoy it now for the most part.
Like you, I can do without most of the rest of the nannies our new trucks have.

Pics of your rebuild?

In the cluster menu you can toggle between adaptive and standard cruise. If you toggle to standard cruise does the truck still complain about the lack of sensor? I assume it will but I would try that first as it is easy.

Unfortunately without the ACC sensor, that option is grayed out and not an option in the menu.

Ok, I don't have adaptive cruise on my 2019 XLT, so this is a guess. Go into the IPMA module. Disable anything that says Adaptive Cruise. Disable Distance Alert if it is Enabled. Set Pre-Collision Assist Type to Camera Only.

Hopefully that will take the Radar out of those two systems, and disable ACC.

Let us know if it works. ?

Found a few other settings that also probably need to be changed.

In the BCM module. Collision Mitigation by Braking, change to :2-Cruise Control". Change Cruise Control to"Cruise Control".

In the IPC module, disable any line with Adaptive Cruise in it. This may not be necessary. Probably only disables associated displays and menus.

Another thought: I am not sure how not having the radar module will affect the communications between modules. @airline tech is probably a better source for that question. When the system looks for the module at startup and doesn't find it, it may still throw an error.

Same here, just came back from a 3700 mile road trip to Iowa for my Grandson's graduation (yep, I'm that old) and I loved not having to 'beep' the cruise up/down every time I came up on someone and there was a car on my left, which happens a lot (I think some of them do it on purpose).

Sorry, I had to do some research

I did some As-Built compares between an XL (XLT & Lariat)

I focused on the ones that were specific to ACC

This is what I noted:

IPC:

720-01-01 - Change xFxx-xxxx-xxxx -- To: xCxx-xxxx-xxxx
This disables the ACC & Menu

BCM:

726-13-01 - Change xxxC-xxxx-xxxx --- To: xxx8-xxxx-xxxx
Cruise Control Adaptive = (C) --- Cruise Control Normal = (8)

Not sure if any of these are in the (Easy Menu's) or not, I personally don't like the easy menu as I like to know exactly what I am changing, rather than the menu making (hidden changes) that I cannot see or at least if I do use it, I know (EXACTLY) what is being altered.

Not Sure what this is, noted one of the differences between the trims (in the IPMA) is this line

706-02-01 - Change xxxx-xxxx-7Fxx --- To: xxxx-xxxx-60xx
Description: Turns off the invalid data - DTC (IPMA Com) from PCM, PSCM & RCM
So, I would not change this unless the above 2 do not work without errors, as this is not specific if they are tie ins for the ACC.
These are just a noted difference for an (XL)

Other Modules that may need altered are:

ABS - possibly line 760-03-01
PCM, there is not a specific breakdown of PCM codes, so if one is needed here its compare match to an XL - but from I gather, the PCM (Forscan) will not let you re-write code.
Needs the proper authorized cable and possibly the tuning software.

I am thinking that the FCW and AEB will still be active as we are not changing any specific for that feature.
I only focused on the ACC settings

So, you can try the ones above and (TEST)

Did anyone ever find a mod for the 12v plug time? It stays on for 2 hours after turning the truck off and for me that 2 hours two long with the stuff I have plugged in.

I forgot and my Forscan extended license has expired.
Went to renew it and the Server for payout not available.
Has anyone know what's up with this.

Due to sanctions on Russia, you can only do free 2 month licenses.

From Forscan website

December 18, 2024 - Suspending Windows and Android FORScan License sales
We were informed by our payment processor, PayPro Global, that they will be unable to send payments to Russian banks anymore due to recent changes in global sanctions against Russia. As a result, we have to suspend sales of FORScan licenses for Windows and Android. We will try to find new payment methods and routes.
We haven't received a similar notification from Apple yet, so thus far FORScan Lite for iOS will remain available in Apple App Store.

I found out that ForScan has allowed " Ayham Kutit " to accept through a Facebook account to PayPal renewal.
My problem is that I don't have a Facebook account.
I guess I'll have to hunt a friend up
