Only crummy part to X-Plan is that dealers say they're not allowed to discount their vehicles below X-Plan once it is applied to a deal. I had a dealer offer me an F-150 with X-Plan, but then was giving me his $1,000 kickback from the bank if i went through his financing. He explained he technically isn't allowed to do that since Ford doesn't want dealers discounting on top of the plan. If that was the case then why was he giving me the $1k kickback? Seemed odd, but several other dealers ultimately said the same thing (tho they didn't give me the $1k kickback).

Lots of weird rules with A-Plan and X-Plan stuff.

Anyway, OP the folks above are saying Granger Ford does 4% below invoice. You'll have to run a search on this forum to find their representatives/POCs.

I think that is just dealers wanting to pad things as much as they can. No one is FORCING anyone to use X-Plan, but if you do, it does have specific requirements (many of them to keep dealers from soaking you with additional fees, etc). One dealership I dealt with said they would happily accept X-Plan, but they offered me a price below X-Plan, so I didn't need it.

Granger Ford is a stand up place.

Generally, when using a Ford plan, the dealer is compensated one way or another. The employee pricing A/Z plan is a little over 7% off of MSRP.
the below link is just a random dealership explaining the plans and providing a made up example of how it works. From doing a little research it looks like Ford marks up invoice to MSRP approx. 5%

When I did my build and price, the dealer actually took off $400, and said the price I had was the internet price. I dunno .... also check for any discount or rebate dealios, I had two that lowered my price to $26,020 - won't ever see a Ranger at that price anymore.

Also got a bit $50 back for ASS delete. Man, I've kind of spent that $50 a hundred times over from being on this forum ...

Even this one costs more!!! =p

Sometimes you will receive a personal discount via Ford, it stays on there Ford in house system, when they type in your info and search they pop up and the dealer checks the details.. I got a 1st responder discount, rebate and another discount for Ford loyalty when I bought my F150 and my Ranger, both new. I wanna say I got around $1000 + or -. Ford occasionally mails me a letter letting me know what my offer is for either a new Ford or a specific model, you can take that to the dealer because sometimes that special offer must be presented to the dealer as it has a special code they enter to populate it on there pc.

Dealers around here show you the invoice and if you have a good relationship with a sales guy or the finance Mgr they will show you on the PC how much $$ they actually have in the car. When they've done a vinsen(spelling?) Search of all the dealers in a specific mileage area and they type in what model and accessories you want it will pop up and the price is listed what that dealer has in it. Then your dealer can call to make sure it is available and what the other dealer wants in trade either a vehicle or a vehicle and cash.

I've never had to actually order a vehicle, they found my F150 at a dealer 45 min away that they traded for, my wife's Fusion was found at a dealer in IN near Lake Mich and my Ranger was found in Ohio.

One thing they warned me about, if you search online and find what you think you want don't go to that dealers website or call because that shows them someone is interested and they won't make a dealer to dealer trade.

Also if you get a special finance offer, those can be specific to your state and may not transfer to another state due to sales and inventory so if you try to buy it you may not get a low rate, but if your dealer does a trade you most likely get it.

*** also the Vinsen search is on a dealer only link so I am not sure but I doubt that shows the other dealer someone's Interested. If a customer looks at it. The dealer gets notified when someone's looked at the vehicle.

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
Not to argue with anyone, but if you qualify for the Xplan, you are still eligible for any and all current offers. Be they rebates, financing through Ford etc. But you are not eligible for non-Ford things like some insurance company incentives. But Ford rebates and interest rate deals... all day long.

I've bought quite a few of my vehicles via XPlan. And assisted many of my employees in using it over the years. Depending on the overall market, sometimes XPlan is a good deal, but at other times you may be able to get a desperate dealer to offer you a better price.

One thing XPlan does do, it cuts out 98% of the dealer sales process bullshit.

Yeah, I used X-Plan to buy my 5G and I got a couple of other incentives as well. It certainly made for an easy purchasing experience for me.
