I upgraded too from a 5g to 6g. I still drive a 5g for work but my personal vehicle is a 6g. The LED headlights and the interior is the biggest changes. They are both good with the 6g having the edge for sure.

My guess would be hundreds or thousands of heat cycles from cold to hot back to cold etc. drum heats up, it gets bigger, bearing race/bushing is a different material so expands at a different rate and moves each cycle a little bit until it blocks the oil passage.

Interesting, 4x4 is standard in Canada. Maybe that’s how it was for the 5g too?? You can’t even option to remove it. But ya 43450 for the cheapest optioned truck. yikes!
