My Lariat has the Ford tune (Livernois) and my 300S 5.7 is stock, both running 93 E0 and either are far from broken in. Both have similar SAE net adjusted hp numbers but the 300 is a bit heavier, has independent suspension and is running a ZF 8 speed through a 2.65 rear axle. The 300 feels quicker off of the line due to more low end torque. In an anything goes, no holds barred race, tough call in a drag race. 300 speed limiter is set to 148 mph and gets similar highway mileage as the Ranger. Overall average mpg is a bit lower in the Chrysler as expected: 17mpg vs 23 mpg.

Still, 14.2 is a great ET for stock Detroit Iron….

”Surprise, surprise! The stone stock L78 proves GM was underrating things back in the day. With 425 hp at 5,800 rpm and 445.4 lb-ft at 3,600 rpm, we are a full 50 hp higher than showroom claims.”
There were a lot of engines back in that time frame that were claimed to be underated but the 1/4 mile trap speeds didn't really support the claim.

The FP tune is not written by Livernois. FP uses the Livernois module but does not use a Livernois tune.
'Livernois' shows up in the credits on the Pro Cal 4 Calibrator.

Again, the ProCal is Livernois' device, used by Ford. The Ford Performance tune, is written by Ford, not Livernois.

I'm not gonna argue with you. It's well known information. If you choose to continue to believe otherwise, so be it.

I believe Mountune is associated with Ford racing.

The cars back then had crappy suspension an crap tires on them that hurt performance too.

That graveyard cars show has that Mopar specialists guy on (I don't care for the show) an he builds period correct restored cars. One customer wanted a Hell Cat powertrain dropped in a 1970 superbird. That car was a beast. It would smoke any vintage Hemi.

Why are you hyperventilating? MyCalibrator and ProCal 4 are clearly the same device, probably bought from the same vendor in China. Ford Performance would have every financial incentive to purchase an 'off the shelf' tune and calibrator from Livernois to avoid the ridiculous EPA 'testing requirements' associated with every new automotive product. Solid rumors are that Livernois and Ford Performance work hand in hand anyway.....

The 5.7 hemi is a pig. Underpowered for its size.
Just a couple of weeks ago Engine Masters took a 5.7 Hemi and put a cam & headers on it and made 500 HP. Just like the LS engines the heads flow so well that it is easy to get big power.

Plus 375 to 395 HP depending on application is hardly a pig.

FWIW, the Ford Performance tune has a CARB Exemption number and comes with sticker to apply to the engine that officially makes it 50 state legal in the eyes of the EPA. Can't find anything on the Livernois web site that lists an exemption number for any of their tuning products and without the exemption number it is technically not legal. Can't imagine that Livernois has the resources to do the testing required and file for the exemption for every variation of a tune they offer.

There is no doubt that FP is sourcing the ProCal4 from Livernois but whether Livernois had any involvement with developing the tune is any bodies guess. I any case FP spent the money and filed with CARB to get the exemption, not Livernois.

FYI, I down loaded the Livernois Updater software. It looks identical to the ProCal4 Updater except for the executable logo and version. When I tried to connect my ProCal4 to it I get an error message that it is not compatible.
