I honestly know nothing about these 3.6L motors, are they any good, any problems with them?
They are pretty good motors! The early models, 2012-2013 had some motor ticking issues but they resolved that by 2014. They put the motors in Ram trucks, minivans and of course jeep lineup of wranglers and grand Cherokee.

I had a 2016 Wrangler 4-door Sport for almost two years. No mechanical issues but the driver side a-pillar hardtop area did leak water occasionally. Could definitely tell my old bay boat was behind it while towing. Did not feel comfortable at all pulling it. I’d buy another jeep if it was not a daily driver.

Just to play Devil's Advocate here...Ford announced they were doing that because dealerships were creating fake orders so they could have a bunch of them on the lot, along with the ability to mark them up using ADM's. It was the dealerships who created it. You said yourself that a small dealership had 1075 orders? 1075? The dealerships created this mess.

Not even close! The small dealership I'm talking about is probably one of the only transparent ones welling a Bronco right now, unless you're active on the B6G message board you wouldn't know. Dealers are marking them up right now at ridiculous ADM's see picture below. Also what "Ford announced" hold no water because they said right off the bat they were using the timestamp to make it fair for every reservation holder and they also said NO dealer would receive retail orders until every reservation was filled....Both LIES!

if it makes you feel better 2 weeks before my Go fast Camper was scheduled to be built, I was set back 6 months so they can build them for tuna tacos instead. Originally I was given build #1229 and they built them in order then they decided to build by truck model and bed length. thaey gave me a free hat....

Before you BMC at Ford, why don't you drop down to your local Ram dealer, and look at the delivery dates for the TRX. Oh! While you're at it, look at the add-on dealer markup. $10K is cheap in comparison!

Because I didn't buy a RAM and this isn't what ford originally stated. So it's fine if they want to change the rules in the middle of the game because they're just pissing off A LOT of long term customers. Would you like it if you had an order and thought you were getting one based on timestamp and now it's getting pushed out 4 years from your reservation date? I think not.

Alex, Because most dealers don't care about their customers anymore and it's all about $$ now. That's why I'm defending Granger Ford as they've been the most transparent one on the B6G forum. There are many post from others who have reservations with different dealers who thank them (Granger) for all the info they provide because they can't get any from their own dealer. I know there are many other good dealers out there but this is just based on what I hear/see on B6G and this forum.

Thanks Duke!

Just for the record I don't think some understand this whole allocation system. I didn't until this morning when Granger Ford laid it all out. It makes no sense how a dealer who has 1075 orders will only get between 150-200 fulfilled in 2022. I don't hold anything against Ford for parts delays but I do hold them responsible for changing the rules and screwing all their customers. The only thing this allocation system does is benefit large volume dealers who are marking up their Bronco's.

I agree - to me, a deal’s a deal. It’s just bad business to do what they did.

Unfortunately, every once in a while, some executive makes a poorly calculated decision - usually financially influenced - that has short term benefits to the corporation but carpet bombs their reputation. Sucks. Now some poor schmuck in Corporate Communications & Public Affairs has to mop up the mess.

I’m doubting 1075 valid Bronco orders from a “small dealership” tbh. Ford has 3000 dealerships across the US so if the larger ones had even more orders, we’d be looking at 3M+ Bronco orders. Take it however you want.

Wow, here's the response from Mike Levine basically telling everyone his dealers come before their customers. In other words the big dealers defiantly strong armed Ford to change this from a timestamp system to an allocation system to benefit them! #losingfaithinFord

I didn't read through the whole thread since I posted earlier, but didn't it seem contradictory:

"Dealers are independent franchises"

And then: "they don't get to..."

Doesn't seem very 'independent' to me!

The reason they had so many orders was they were doing invoice pricing not msrp. Then in October '20 they ran a month long special invoice pricing and $2000 off. So there were a lot of people jumping on this deal and even transferring their order from other dealers.

Ford really just screwed Bronco order holders again! They put out their new allocation formula yesterday for the '22 year and it's basically screwing over every small dealership that has a Bronco reservation and rewarding big dealerships. Ford initially said the EVERY order would be filled by reservation timestamp but then the larger dealerships complained and Ford changed to an allocation system.

In other words a small town dealership like Granger Ford in IA where me and Jim @wanted33 bought ours who has 1075 orders will only get 150-220 at best filed in 2022. At this rate I'd be lucky to see mine until 2024, right in time for the next Gen Bronco!

I know I've said I'm a huge Ford fanboy but honestly Ford can go #@!& themself if this is how they're going to treat their customers and their smaller dealers. This is what they want to do going forward, a reservation based system where you have to special order your vehicle and only have limited dealer stock. I know other launches might not be as disastrous as the Bronco launch as there was a 25 year hiatus but it's still a BS move by Ford to change the rules to benefit their big time dealers instead of HONORING their original agreement. There are a lot of unhappy Bronco order holders now and I hope Ford gets an earful in the coming weeks, probably won't do any good though. Sorry for the long rant but it's not the news I wanted to hear this Saturday morning. /rant over....for now :sunglasses:
Back in '09 I saw Chrysler take a small town dealership away from a family because of the recession, claiming they were consolidating dealerships. In no time at all, a larger Chrysler dealership owned by a corporation that owned a number of dealerships in the Southeast, 30 minutes south of that small dealership, expanded, taking over that closed down dealership. I always felt there was something fishy about that.

I love what the owner of Granger Ford is doing. They also own a Jeep dealership right next door and are offering their order holders a Jeep instead at 4% under invoice. lol

Buy a Wrangler/Gladiator at 4% Under Invoice – if you are tired of the Bronco ride, we can offer you a Wrangler/Gladiator purchase at 4% under invoice and have it delivered to our store in 60-90 days. 2022 Wrangler and Gladiator ordering opened yesterday. Email [email protected] and we’ll be happy to send you a quote.
Sure, great deal, except that after the warm glow of getting back at Ford wears off, you are stuck driving a Jeep!
