As if we need more reasons to abolish the dealership sales model. Build to order from the manufacturer is the future... It should be the present.

Maybe you're misinterpreting this but the build to order IS the main problem here not the dealership. Actually the smaller dealerships are getting screwed by Ford. Ford was supposed to go by timestamp then changed it to allocations which screws all smaller dealers. The old way was working fine until someone tried to reinvent the wheel! As if we need more reasons to abolish the dealership sales model. Build to order from the manufacturer is the future... I just went to two Best Buy stores yesterday to buy my wife a new laptop . They do not have anything in stock to sell . Everything I looked at on display the salesperson told me they would have to ship it to me. If I do that I will just buy from an online storeThe supply chain is in sad shape. I just had to buy a dishwasher and basically had to settle for one of the very few options that Home Depot had in stock. The ones I wanted were 6-8 weeks out. Not defending Ford either, but they simply can’t fill orders, mostly for reasons beyond their control.
Personally I prefer to test drive any vehicle I consider purchasing. I would never buy sight unseen and untested. As if we need more reasons to abolish the dealership sales model. Build to order from the manufacturer is the future... It should be the present.
Don't need a traditional dealership for that. Test drives can still be a thing.Personally I prefer to test drive any vehicle I consider purchasing. I would never buy sight unseen and untested.
It's pretty clear they're doing the same thing with Rangers - several people on here recently who's build dates started after other trucks were finished and waiting on chips already have their trucks while a ton of us are still waitingWhat a mess. What baffles me is why not just do what they said they were going to in the first place? Use the timestamp as your place holder and build them in order. If there's a parts constraint for a certain build go to the next timestamp and come back to the other one once the parts are available.![]()
Yeah maybe just a few demo vehicles? But then we run into the issue of is the vehicle YOU ARE BUYING has any issues, can't inspect that. Then what if they let me "test drive" the exact vehicle I am buying and I don't want it now. I wasted 2 months waiting for a vehicle that had some slight factory issues? And I have to wait another month to see the same type vehicle and hope it does not have the factory QC issues. I think this deserves a lot more thinking and I am sure some team getting paid 7 digits will figure it out. I am too lazy to keep thinking.Personally I prefer to test drive any vehicle I consider purchasing. I would never buy sight unseen and untested.
Maybe in the small percentage of extremes but man does the Bronco win the overall comparisons .If I were in the same boat I’d be hopping over to the jeep side. A jeep rubicon will always out-wheel an ifs vehicle anyway.
Did they run the Rubicon in some high speed whoops or just compare the Wildtrak to the Rub while rock crawling ? I haven't watched the video but I will laterThought some people might be interested in this video as Jeep is gaining traction. Myself, I wish Ford did better with the launch because I love the new Bronco... Just look at that blue bronco....But, now we find different solutions for different problems.
Your guess is as good as my guess. I just thought to add to the conversation with a video that seemed to look like a overall look at both. Who knows if it's a decent one. Letting people get insight on both vehicles, whether they want to wait with Ford's poor game plan or if they want to switch to a nice Jeep.Did they run the Rubicon in some high speed whoops or just compare the Wildtrak to the Rub while rock crawling ? Yes.Sorry for OT, is Wildtrak an international trim? Because Ranger Wildtrak sounds a lot cooler than Lariat or Tremor.
Not sure if he was referring to a Ranger or a Bronco. If it's a Wildtrak Bronco they're just a higher trim model sold here. It's the model above the Badlands.Yes.
