Funny thing is there are people that would not think twice about it guess it is good to have more money to do things like that. Those $70,000 Ranger Raptors was enough for me to not even think about it.
I have the money to do it but I also have the brains not to. lol It's all about priorities and what you want to spend your money on.

Just like the ones who paid $20K + over msrp for a Bronco when they first came out. Every dealer I pass now has a bunch of them lined up and now can barely sell them for msrp and they have discounts up to $6K.

I totally agree on the Raptor! I mean they're really nice and I was going to get one before getting my Tremor but they're not $70K nice!

Friday while having my 2019 Ranger serviced at the dealer I got an up close and personal look at the Gen 6. Really nice truck and while I didn't get to drive it I was not so enamored that I would trade mine in for it. Cabin seems a bit more refined and the thought of a turbo charged 6 banger is pretty intriguing. Maybe in a couple of years. Anyone else think the same as me?
I’m specifically happier about the center area between the seats.. cup holders are more intelligently placed in my opinion

I got my Ranger serviced last Friday also and went looking for the Raptor to look at until I saw the window sticker on all four of them! They were all over $70.000 and that stopped me in my tracks. Sure, they looked great and all, but NO truck is worth $70.000 dollars they even had one running and it had an interesting hot rod sound but that still would not get me any further than looking. Plus, I hate that stubby shifter lever it looks stupid!
Yes there nuts with the MSRP's and the stubby shifter comes in the Lariat i believe
i prefer (and have) the regular height shifter.
As for my pricing i think i did good i knew they had been sitting on this truck for 3 months researched pricing services about what others were selling for and went in with the mindset i would go lower i wound up $250 under invoice plus i had a private mailer offer for $750 so $1G under invoice also i took Ford credit 3.9% for 3 years and the Dealer had a oil change & tire rotation offer for 3 years 3 changes included with my purchase.

Nice, but I still think the 5G are more attractive, at least up front.
Not unless they bring back the Supercab. I have no need for a full back seat and I'd rather have a longer bed.

$70,000, that's a luxury they're $98-100,000 over here although allowing for the difference in the exchange rate it's actually technically slightly cheaper over here, but still robbery. We also have the option of a twin turbo 3.0 V6 diesel for the 6G Ranger here, which is a nice engine, but the Raptor still comes with the 3.0 turbo petrol.

I wonder if Ford is going to go back to a chain on the oil pump drive in the 2.7. I understand the wet oil-pump belt has shown deterioration over time. It seems stupid to stick with the belt if that's the case.

I drove a Fusion with the 2.7 several years ago, and it is a great performer. 400 pound-feet of torque! Pretty close to the 5.0 Coyote. It moved that Fusion.
Wet belt oil pump would be a deal killer for me

With the cost of Diesel over here I will stick with Gas I got rid of a 2013 Ram 3500 Cummins because of the cost of fuel it got to where it would have cost me well over $250.00 to fill up because I had a 50 Gallon Aux tank, and 80 Gallons of fuel was out of site! Otherwise, I would still have my Ram.

Agreed, and the 2.0 L bi turbo diesel sold here as the standard engine has wet oil pump and timing belt. Shame, it is otherwise quite a nice, very powerful, ( 215 Hp) and efficient diesel.

Diesel is usually around the same price, or cheaper over here. 20 years ago it was significantly cheaper. Combined with the better fuel efficiency of a diesel, it makes it hard for manufacturers to sell a petrol truck and most no longer offer them. (Raptor is the first one offered for a long time)

It's the YOLO generation. You only live once. They'll worry and complain about it in their late 40's and 50's when they realize they have no savings. But for now, they are gonna live it up. Dealers have been taking advantage of this mindset over the last 4 years and can pretty much dictate these crazy prices as a result. American's have become so lazy that negotiating isn't a mindset. It's all about immediate gratification.

The dealer I go to cringe when I arrive because they know I will be chiseling on them. The last time the salesman told me they have been beat up enough by my negotiating.
