Friday while having my 2019 Ranger serviced at the dealer I got an up close and personal look at the Gen 6. Really nice truck and while I didn't get to drive it I was not so enamored that I would trade mine in for it. Cabin seems a bit more refined and the thought of a turbo charged 6 banger is pretty intriguing. Maybe in a couple of years. Anyone else think the same as me?

Unless you were looking at a Raptor, all the other models are still 4 cylinders.
Nope! You can get a 2.7 V6 in the XLT and Lariat but has to be 4x4. They are starting to show up at dealers now.

For me, I can't get past the front end unless it is a Raptor Ranger. It reminds me of the ~2003 Nissan Frontier and new Maverick mixed into one (rather than small F150, big Maverick). The Ranger Raptor fixes that mostly. I am warming up to the vertical screen although wish it was horizontal like the the 2024 Escape.

Overall, Ford I think has the best engine packages out of all the mid-size right now. The 2.7L in the F150 felt punchy at low RPM, I bet in the Ranger it will actually feel quick! Raptor for all out performance. I think the 2.3L is probably the most proven engine of the trio, even though mine is having an issue at 50k miles. Time will tell.

Ford did a lot of improvements, I just think the new GM Mid-size trucks look better on the outside and their interiors look nicer. Just dont know which is more practical as I have not been in either.

If I was forced to sell my Ranger I would still pick the Ranger Raptor out of all the mid-size. Otherwise, I love my truck. Thinking I will start making some upgrades as I now know what the new gen offers.

I can tell you that the ride is much more stable than my '19 was, no more 'bobble head' or
'body motions' its also rides a bit smoother over rougher paved roads i got the 2.3 again so that's the same. Interior i think is much improved overall, so far so good :)

I wonder if Ford is going to go back to a chain on the oil pump drive in the 2.7. I understand the wet oil-pump belt has shown deterioration over time. It seems stupid to stick with the belt if that's the case.

I drove a Fusion with the 2.7 several years ago, and it is a great performer. 400 pound-feet of torque! Pretty close to the 5.0 Coyote. It moved that Fusion.

Are you comparing the stock '19 suspension to the stock 6G suspension? Because a lot of us 5G owners ditched the stock suspension for something more superior like Eibach or Bilstein and saw drastic improvement.

Stock 5G to 6G the 6th is improved IMO. i know they moved the shocks outboard and its 2''wider
2'' longer WB now so maybe that's what fixed it, IDK.
And i did what a lot of owners here did, i changed to the global leaf's, and Bilstein 5100's adjustable in front and 5100's rear but i was still getting that left/right 'my' body roll  on certain roads, it was definitely still present.
I even changed out the rears for 4600's experimenting with it.
Now after the mods It did ride stiffer overall but that didn't bother me, it was the road defects feeding back to or through the truck, it never completely resolved the issue. although that wasn't the main or only reason i sold it.
At some point on this '24 I'm probably going to switch out for the Bilstein's and level it and go up one in tire size.
