I don't care for this feature. I was thinking of getting that LED nightlight but over the last month or so it has just become habit to hit the switch and turn it off. That's cheaper than a $4 nightlight I suppose. ?

But as for the OP, hey if that was what they wanted to do then I don't see why they shouldn't. Seems kind of odd that some are being a bit snarky about it. $100 isn't that much and if it works for the OP the way they want and they are fine with what they paid then good. Sure there are cheaper options and maybe some are just trying to share information. But some responses come off as, "You wasted your money and you should have done this instead." OP already did it and seems happy with the results.

I've seen people post here with things they have done to their Ranger and thought, "I'd never do that. What a waste of money." But I don't chime in with my thoughts on that because it is their truck. They can do what they want and spend what they want doing it. Heck, if someone posted that they painted their Ranger pink, green and orange I'd not care for it myself. But if they like it then I like that they are happy with it. :)

P.S. Tailgate damper, another hot topic. ?

I wonder. I've had my Ranger since May 22nd, and it has NEVER shut down at a light or otherwise! And, it will idle for hours if I allow it to, and the auto engine off is not disabled.
The auto stop/start is disabled if the trailer connector is in use. Do you have anything plugged up there?

Nothing is plugged in. Even if I turn off the air conditioning, press on the brake, nada! I even spoke with the Ford Media group guys, and sort of got a confirmation, but that's all.

I for one wasn't trying to be snarky with my response. I'm cheap and can't see spending $100.00 when a $4.00 night light will do the same thing. Besides, that still leaves me $96.00 leftover for other things like more ammo. lol ?

I did the auto stop eliminator so it just keeps memory of what the last selection was, I don’t care what it costs, it will end up being a tax write off anyways, I don’t want the truck shutting down unless I tell it to

I probably shouldn't say this, but it isn't very hard to train yourself to reach over & push the button after you start it. Kinda like it's not hard to wipe after taking a dump. We were trained to do that too.
It doesn't bother me, but bothers my husband. The first thing I do when he's with me is: REACH OVER & PUSH THE BUTTON!:)

that is the most annoying, worthless feature in any new car........... thank god there are multiple ways to get rid of it for good.

I added the "Eliminator". Little less than $100 so not happy I had to pay extra for that (same feeling about the tailgate damper :) ) , but well worth it to me. Maybe it's just me but I don't like having to push the button every time I start up the truck. I already have to plug in my phone before I start up the truck, don't need to have a routine just to drive it.

And happy for all those who don't mind it stopping, but I'm not in that group. It's startling EVERY time. :) Passengers even look over like, did your car just cut out? If I had an electric Prius or something maybe it wouldn't be so noticeable. Also powers down the AC a lot, which is a big deal in the GA Summer, and at least for me it often jacks with my stereo (i.e. phone disconnects and starts playing radio instead of phone audio).

the auto stop elimiator is also what I used and it is well worth the money to me. I set it to off an April (when it was installed) and haven't touched it since.
