I used one (additive) in my Ford Bronco six cylinder back in the 1980's and that engine did more than 300,000 Km before needing a rebuild, but in all fairness those locally produced 250 Ci Ford sixes were tough as nails and regularly known to do 500,00 Km or more in Taxi use anyway, so whether it really made any difference or not I don't know.
I've not bothered using any thing since. Just use reasonable quality oil. I tend to use good quality dual rated diesel engine oil in everything - even the ride on mower, and change it regularly. The Briggs engine in my mower has used it since new and 12 years later is still running strong despite being flogged weekly on a rough and hilly acreage block we live on.

I’ve been watching the study’s on this graphene additive and so far the results look pretty promising. Knowing the science behind it a quart added at an oil change once in a while would be all that is needed. The way it works is it imbeds itself in the micro pores of metal. Once they bond it’s there for good. Gets real slippery over time. So a little recharge and redeposit over time is all you need. https://avadaingraphene.com/graphene-a-new-emerging-lubricant/

@AzScorpion might need to get in on this action

?I might try adding a little 303 Graphene Nano spray in the oil and see what it does. Can't hurt. lol

No one could ever fill a trench coat like Andy, back in the day when STP was the "racers edge"

I have a london fog from my suit wearing days in sales that I now don when changing my oil in honor of Andy.

As others have mentioned, there is no need for the Engine Oil Additives. Make sure you are using a Quality Oil and following the Recommended Service Intervals from the Manufacturer. Doing such will help ensure you don't need to worry as much

This was done back in the 80's! I forgot which company did it, it was in every quart of oil. I tried it but never noticed any difference..You could see it swirling in the oil. Im sure this is probably a different formulation

Yes, like pressing the Auto start/stop off button in the center of the console. This is now part of my pre-flight check.
Hate that damn thing, annoyance and hard on batteries. Ive had bad luck with batteries from Motorcraft, 2019 Ranger 70K miles on third battery, no issues anywhere else, except the thermostat stuck open, that was a weird one, usually they stick closed. Oh and master cylinder booster, spring inside of it dislodged, every time I braked sounded like my front left coil spring. So other than that no issues ? Oh wait, rear rotor warpage..REAR! Not front, rear....ok, I'm done...?

Dont follow manufacturer! Cut that at least in half. I change at 50% oil life remaining which for me equates to around 5K

Oh man I didn’t mean to stir the shit pot.
I was just curious because he said others additives didn’t seem to do much but swears in can tell after he puts it in.

Side question, I brought it to a ford dealership and they use the synthetic blend. At 50k miles, think it is alright to switch to the full synthetic now that I am going to do them myself?
I would, engines are expensive, oil is cheap

I'm going to take a guess and say you've never read the maintenance section of the owner's manual? The owners manual recommends either 10,000 or 5,000 depending on type of use

Yes. Change every 5000 miles. The FL-400S filter is slightly larger and screws right on.
I replaced the plastic screws on the inner fender flap with neodymium magnets and a dab of Gorilla Glue to help hold them on.

I ran Cera Tec in a buddy’s Audi and it was fine, but didn’t blow me away. For my Ranger, I went with TriboTEX after seeing all the testing they’ve done. I tow occasionally and don’t baby the truck, so I wanted something real. So far, startup is quieter and it just feels like the engine isn’t working as hard. I say skip the maybe-it-works stuff and go with the additive that’s actually been through NASA-style testing.
