Beautiful islands Rob - visited the San Juan’s often as well as the Gulf Islands to the north - some of the best camping memories ever - watched a pod of Orca make its way through Active Pass (BC) and for 45 minutes, all marine traffic, including those big ferries, were dead in the water as they came through. Usually went by mountain bike but my 4g made it there too!

Yeah they are certainly beautiful-I'd like to go back. We did a bike trip up there taking the ferry with our bikes to several of the islands. We camped on Orcas and did bike trips on 3 or 4 of the other islands. The inter island ferry trips with our bikes were free. It was a truly memorable trip. I can't believe it was 20 years ago now!

FYI, they used my truck to haul the trailer with the bikes on the ferry because the larger vehicles were too long and we'd go into the next "bracket" for the ferry fees. (they charged by the foot)

It’s the same for the ferries from Vancouver to the Gulf Islands and inter-island ferries were like paying bus fare. Great memories!

It kept you alive so it's still a good looking truck.

I'm always impressed at how well these seem to hold up in an accident.
