We've had a truck in the family since 1978. And for a while, both my wife and I drove trucks. So I downsized, and went to a Ford Edge. After a couple of years, she decided she was tired of trucks, and got an Explorer - leaving us without a truck! My Edge was about ready for a trade (7 years), so when the Ranger came out, I knew that's what I wanted.

I have been a GM guy most of my driving age, and fell in love with the Grand Am, my 2004 GT was sold to buy the Ranger. Well since the demise of the Grand Am I was forced to move on to something else. I wanted to stay with a car, but always wanted to get a truck just for the occasional need to haul lumber etc. (as I would either rent Home Depot or U-Haul) when needed. Well after looking hard at the Malibu, Camery and Accord as my favorite next vehicle, I opted to move up into the mid-size pickup truck. Test drove a few Colorado's and then the Ranger, looked at the Taco but did not drive it. Went back and test drove another Ranger and was hooked. Fits my needs and not oversized (fits in my garage) - I have 1 foot space between Air Compressor and Front Bumper and 1 foot space between Garage Door and Rear Bumper (Perfect) Thank God for parking sensors though, when the sensor turns full red, I known I have clearance to close the door.:like:
So, I'm new to full on Ford Ownership and so far, LOVE the Ranger - 6 Months and 4,000 miles.

We help people sell their Rangers in the easiest way possible.
Had a '13 Focus ST before my truck, plus an old 03 Explorer that I kept for bad weather. Never really fit in the Focus all that well, the Recaro seats were not meant for someone with bigger legs. Even after swapping the seats for a wider, more accomodating, bucket seat, it was still a bit of a squeeze. After meeting my girlfriend, now wife, we wanted to do more exploring in the mountains west of seattle/tacoma. After getting sent on some less than ideal roads that were rough on us, and had to be taken quite slow for the focus, I realized that I needed to get back into a truck. Being a Ford guy, there really wasn't much debate over other options. Coworkers bought tacomas, which I hated the seating position in, the Colorado's weren't much to look at (although had my coworker been selling their diesel ZR2 a few months earlier than they did, i might be on a different forum), and the Gladiator is too damn expensive, and I don't much like the seating position in those either. Found my ranger on a lot having sat there for over a year, and got a killer deal on it. This was all right before truck prices went crazy. All in all, very happy with the truck. Although the focus was a lot of fun...
Nice! So glad you got a great deal on it, and a ranger is a pretty sweet ride so not bad at all!

After this happened to elenore and the body shop fixed it I cashed in on super high resale (apparently dealer didn't check carfax) and got a slightly used truck. I was tired of the oversized half tons and wanted something more fuel, travel, and traffic friendly. I looked at every midsized option out there. Was down to Colorado and the ranger. The ranger was much more comfortable, clear winner!
Glad you went with the ranger! But oh my.... how did this happen??

LOL, parking sensors are such a lifesaver. Congrats on the ranger (6 months later) glad you're loving it!

I come from a family of GM lovers ❤??
My dad, my two brothers, my Uncle and cousin. Then there's me, purchased my first truck in 1980, a 1976 Ford F250 4x4. I've owned several Fords over the years, and they have all been good rigs, so why look at something different?
When it came to the Ranger having best in class fuel economy, best in class torque, best in class towing, and best pricing how could I go to brand X? Besides, I love the Velocity blue.

Slid out of my driveway after an ice storm. Couldn't get truck to back up 2 feet back into the road. Was too slick too pull with my tractor so I was using my come-along (cable puller to non hillbillies) to winch it back in the road. Come along broke and truck rolled 300 feet over the hill, ramped a bluff dukes of hazard style, then ended its journey in a creek. If it wasn't for bad luck.....

I was ready for my fourth Ranger around 2013 and wanted NEW but quickly learned Ford stopped making them here. ? I heard they were available in other markets but wasn’t sold on the look of the front end, fogs, funny headlights, so I waited and waited until 2019 - man, I was happy they looked like they do! I gave it a few months to see if it was a winner, then pounced. Dealers only had a bit of inventory and it took some searching to find a Shadow Black XLT Scab without tech. Found one 70 miles away and made a deal. ? Smiling ever since.?

My wife had been wanting a truck in the house to feed her wood working hobby. Yes you got that right, she’s awesome.

As the neck of our family, she turned my head to focus on trucks. I’ve been mostly a Ford guy over the years so checked out the Maverick, Ranger, and F150. I’ve always driven smaller vehicles so the F150 was bigger than I was interested in. It was either the Maverick or Ranger. Since the Mavericks had to be built, I went with the Ranger and have been very pleased.

My wife loves the truck too but regrets her decision a bit to turn me toward them because now I’m obsessed. Even my kids comment on all the* trucks on the road now. Love it!

Couldn't agree more, you picked a fantastic truck. And yes, the velocity blue is to die for.

Lol dying at the come-along comment and dukes of hazard visual. You painted a hilarious and vivid picture. Alls well that ends well because you ended up with a ranger, but man... what a story.

I bought this because the mavericks was not to our liking. I liked the technology it offers but really wanted a full frame. My wife said its ugly. Really the classic looks of the ranger sealed it for me. The grill isn’t bigger than the windshield.
