Did my 60k maintenance

Hit 60 last weekend and decided to geter done

Had the Transmission fluid changed at the dealer, so no idea how the fluid looked. Cost for me was $263.00. Beside the normal oil and filter change I changed:
both air filters
transfer case fluid
flushed brake lines and inspected pads
hooked up scanner for health check
Man I'm getting old when this kind of work has me wasted at the completion.

Air Filters look about what I expected for 30k of use.

I changed the transfer case fluid at 35k and the factory fill was pretty dark, so I decided to change it with 25k on the fluid. Looks a lot better than the first change. I'll probably start changing at every 30k

After that it was on to flushing the brakes. Turns out these newer trucks seem to have more fluid than I planed for so a had delay to go get more fluid. So if any of you decide to flush your brakes get 2 Qts.
For 60k on the brakes they seem to be holding up pretty well should be able to get another 20k out of the back and maybe more out of the front.

Back right outer pad.

All the rear pads have about the same amount left.
The fronts look to have more pad left than the rear, so I'm pleased with how the brakes are wearing so far.

Last thing I did was a health check with the scanner

Checked long and short term fuel trims. Short term was fluctuating around 0% and long term was +7%. Long term could be up do to new air filter? If I think about it I'll check it in a week or two. Nothing to get twisted over.

All and all I think my 4 year old Ranger is doing really well if I can keep the squirrels and mice away.

My daughter was visiting a couple of weeks ago and saw a squirrel on the porch and thought it was having a heat stroke. She was going to take it glass of water
I told her we will not give aid and comfort to the enemy.
Of course this started how can I be so mean and so forth, and wouldn't talk to me the rest of time here. She'll get over it. Just don't get the compassion for a rodent that does thousand of dollars worth of damage. Hope she doesn't learn it the hard way.

I park my Jeep outside and use the same product. My outdoor camera recorded a mouse sprint out under it. It stayed about 1 second and sprinted back. Guess he didn't like the odor. I also have one of these under the hood. The garage I go to found a mouse pellet stuck in my engine air filter. The mechanic suggested getting fox urine at a sporting goods store and putting a few drops in the engine compartment to keep rodents away. When my truck gets booted out onto the driveway in a couple weeks I’ll probably try it.

Mix a little in a spray bottle and sprayed down my wires with it. So far so good.

Didn't realize at the time I bought my oil but Pennzoil is no longer making their oil from natural gas plus lost the Dexos rating. Don't know if I'm going to stay with this brand or switch back to Mobil 1.

I am going to stay with Penzoil for a while for 3 reasons.

1). It says 15000 mile protection and I change it every 5000 miles
2). It is probably still as good as most at that price range
3).

I've switched from Pennzoil to Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30. My hope is that it keeps the turbo screens and other build up ail clean. I'll let you know how it works out, but reviews have been very positive. Here's a video from The Motor OIl Geek

I thought about Valvoline R&P after watching the tare down of the 3.2 l a couple of years ago. I'll stick with Pennzoil for now. I change it every 5k like dozxab does, so should be fine.
