>Need to put the new driveshaft on thatās sitting in a box in my garage. Got it after the center bearing started squeaking, then the squeak went away š
>Figure out why my brakes squeal when I step on the pedal. The garage looked at them twice now and canāt find anything wrong! Glad I canāt hear...
The leveling kit also raised the rear 1ā, so net effect is 2ā overall.
Forgive my ignorance but does replacing the driveshaft normally include replacing the carrier bearing? The dealer mentioned only the driveshaft. Iāve noticed no problem with vibration, only the chirping noise.
Forgive me for resurrecting my old thread but now 2 years later the chirping noise is backā¦and louder. The dealer came back and said it needs a new driveshaft. Weāre waiting on the extended warranty people to approve it.
I had a ReadyLift 3ā leveling kit put on the truck a month after I...
I donāt use anything, but Iāll admit my FX4 rides much better with some weight in the back. My Dad had an old Chevy pickup and kept a couple of concrete pavers in the bed for weight.
Oh yea, Iām 5ā3ā and my truck has a 3ā lift in the front to level the truck so I need āem (plus Iām over 70). But besides that, I use the running board to tie my shoelaces (lol), to reach the front windshield to clean itā¦and it saved some body damage when I didnāt notice a riding lawnmower...
Before retiring, the company I worked for required us to back in when parking on their property. I also have a phobia about backing into a passing car if I pull in forward ( yes, I made that mistake in a parking lot when I was younger). Besides, I also have a much better view of people walking...
Let go of a 2012 Chevy Avalanche to get my 2019 Ranger. I really loved that thingā¦a truck that rode like a car. Dropped the back seat/midgate and had room to carry a 14ā new kayak home. You could even remove the back window if you needed toā¦and it fit in the garage!
I guess you can tell I wish...
When I bought my 2019 new I got a brochure that my truck was equipped with Kahu (now LoJack). I just looked at the app and it has a history of where Ive been each day and my top speed for each trip. Think Iām gonna request all the history be erased. Big Brother is watching!
When I got my 2019 new, the dealer was pushing MPP over the Ford extended warranty. I got it since it was the new model year for the Ranger in the US. Iāve tried to use it once, when the driver side front speaker went out. Got it approved to replace with no problem, but the dealer is always so...
Glad I found this thread! We have a 14.5ā kayak that Iāve tried to figure out how to load. Itās way too long in the Ranger bed. When I had a Chevy Avalanche I put it on the roof rack.
Based on the video I had posted earlier the consensus was the center bearing was the problem. Until the noise starts up again the dealer wonāt do anything.
An update - called my service advisor about bringing it in the next week after my last post. He said to be sure it was making the noise when I bring it in because if the tech canāt hear it they canāt fix it. The weekend before I was to take it in it suddenly stopped making that noise. We think...
Appreciate the confirmation everyone! Iāve never taken the extended warranty on any car I bought, but now Iām thinking it was a good idea on this one.
My 2019 Ranger, with 34k miles has suddenly started making noise. My son rode along and said itās coming from under the center of the truck. He also recorded the noise for me. It starts making the noise once I hit 25-30 mph. It drives and turns fine. I saw the thread on the drive shaft carrier...
Now Iām a little concerned. Iāve had my FX4 for almost 3 years and only had it in 4WD once by accident. If I start doing the above should I keep it in 4 Low or 4 High? I live where itās flat and none (if any) snow, so have very little opportunity to use it unless I can find a field somewhere...
My Interstate battery was $220 (H6) with a 3 yr free replacement warranty. Motorcraft only has a 2 yr warranty. The guy at NTB said the H7 I wanted wouldnāt fit but didnāt specify why. If not the footprint/size, maybe it was the post placement? In either case they told me it wouldnāt last any...
Question - After the NTB guy changed my battery I noticed my pre-set radio stations were still in memory & the clock was right (which seemed odd), and my car was still acting like it was conserving battery (audio off when I started the car as well as the cheap sounding seat belt chime). I...
