2019 Ranger Lariat 4x4. The truck has set for 12 days, It has a Napa legend battery with a date of 10-23 (it is 2yrs and 4 months old). Voltmeter reads 4.4 volts. I disconnected the negative cable and put a 2amp charger on. What could be the cause for the battery to drain down? I will check the battery tomorrow and see if it took a charge. Thanks For any help!

These trucks have a lot of parasitic drain. When leaving them sit for any length of time you should always hook it up to a battery maintainer. Mine is connected to one just about 24/7 because I don't drive it every day and most of my trips are short ones which doesn't let it charge fully.

How do you have your battery maintainer set up? Thanks!

Once your battery is charged up and the cable reconnected get out your DC clamp meter (you have one, right?) and, with everything off in the truck, place the clamp over the battery negative cable. Place the meter in DC amp mode. You will get a reading of the parasitic amp draw when everything is turned off. From that you can determine what is being drained out of your battery when the truck sits. Consider a maintenance (trickle) charger if you leave it sit for long periods of time.
