Mine works as a tortilla warmer. Nothing much I want to leave in there. I think it should have a lid similar to what was in my 2014 Jeep Cherokee, it was about the same size.

I suppose with a lid, it would then become an oven instead of just a hot plate. :)

By the way, what a massive pain in the ASS it is getting the wire from the dash tray down to the driver's side footwell!!
Why yes, yes it was a PITA running that wire to driver side! My Ford Raptor had gaping holes under the tray, but the Ranger is packed tight under there.

To keep items from sliding around in the dash tray, I cut a non-slip pad to fit. It’s a soft spongy material that grips fairly well when there is weight on it.

I did the same thing. Works really good!

I'm fly. I'm pilot.
Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing!! Now I just need to get a mount with a longer arm and more knuckles.

Dude. What is that cable? Is that the one you got with the tuner? Mine sticks straight out like 2 inches from the side. Where did you get it???

@Darek661 do you happen to have the original design file yet? I'd like to use the original, accurate file as a foundation for 3D printing a custom tray configuration

I just saw this post/idea. I had a roll of that exact material in my workroom. Perfect fix for the sliding sunglasses! Thanks!

I'm not so exotic. Have you been watching Joe vs the Volcano? If you haven't you need to!

I used a chunk of my late 1980's projection screen TV display panel to make a base, then added a slip resistant bottom to it (The mirror in that TV is amazing quality - sharp and clear).

Mounted my Garmin GPS base to it to finish up the project. Fit perfectly in the top dash tray. I do have the cable external to the 12V port, but it has the traffic antenna integrated into it.

Been working fine for 5 years now. I kept it portable to protect the GPS from the heat. Only goes up when traveling. Otherwise it is stashed in the center console.
