@Darek661 do you happen to have the original design file yet? I'd like to use the original, accurate file as a foundation for 3D printing a custom tray configuration
So it sounds like my deduction was correct. Had Ford gone the "simpler" route, the OEM TBC would have 2 different versions. A Lariat version, and an XL/XLT version, the latter being the more expensive option (to produce at least), needing to convert the PWM signal to a constant.

After spending hours reading through several forums, trying to figure out why, and how, Ford is using their "OEM" trailer brake controller, I think I have some answers that may help some people. Now, I may also be wrong, I simply came to a conclusion...
