I don't think the ZR2/Bison are bad looking trucks, but they do always seem to have too small of a tire package for the truck.

I always just chalked it up to the round tire in a square fender causing the teeny tire image.

I think this truck could look great with properly sized tires, but I don't know if bigger will fit with those fenders.

But BONUS!! Both Zr2s that I test drove had dampers!! Don't know if it was factory though...

Wouldn’t touch one of those w a 10’ pole. Life is just too short to deal with a modern GM product, front locker or no.

From what I hear the later 2.8L Duramax is a good engine. I believe they have been using that motor for years over seas, but our version has all emissions crap on it. I've seen on youtube people tune and delete them and get good results, not that it would be easy to do that now. When the bison first came out I wanted a white one with the Duramax bad but didn't want to spend the 53k.

$52K for that GM product is NO BUENO. Terrible power and quality of build!! You can run a ring around that thing in your Ranger.....
I wouldn't give more than $35K for it......IMO as always

I owned a '01 4x4 Blazer. It had a tremendous 4x4 system! Other than that it was the typical GM cheap build quality.....especially on the interior......
The 5g Ranger may not be perfect but it's put together MUCH better than any GM vehicle.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the clarification.... Nice to see GM copy the Ranger boxed frame. We always knew GM as a "Fast follower"...rarely a inovator.

Best,
Phil
+1 on that. Even the styling and proportions. The overall lines are very similar. I mistook a Colorado a Ranger the other day. Had to look twice. Kinda sad.

Is that the optional dump bed option?

They are not bad looking trucks, but in the end, still a GM product. Maybe they can get another government bailout to fix the bed issues.

We got the flare notch as well.
Albeit slightly less obnoxious.

Anyone old enough to remember when Cadillac concealed the gas caps behind the tail light which pivoted to give access ? Growing up a friend had one of those , I remember playing with it in his garage (pre-adolescent).

Someone at Ford was on the ball when they decided to re-intro the Ranger to the US market given the competition's offerings - aged Frontier , Taco with archaic drive train and the Colorado, well let's just say GM and leave it at that.

Then of course Ford realized what they had and proceeded to mercilessly and brutally wield the decontent hammer.

To be fair, the Chevy is stock, where your photo is an aftermarket add-on.

I always find these threads entertaining. I'm a member of ColoradoFans as well since I still have a 2017 GMC Canyon in the fleet. I'll say they each have pros and cons and that is why each manufacturer picks up the competitors vehicles to study along the way in prep for designing new models. Reliability wise, both have been rock solid so far in my experience.
