Right?!

Smart of them to add some tech on finally.

I'm a Ford guy at heart but shopped ZR-2s and Bisons when I bought my Ranger. Lack of tech amenities kept me away.
I've always had Fords between F150's and E100's for business I've had over a dozen. I was very close to pulling the trigger on a ZR2 but the interior was very outdated. Plus once I drove the Ranger it was a no brainer and I bought it on sight.

This one looks nice and I'd like to give it a look if the dealers ever have one on their lots. Not saying I'd buy one but I'm also not waiting 3+ years for my next Ford either.

I had to build the ZR2 for comparison. Added almost every option and it came out to $52,880.

I built out a ZR2 for $61k. ?

I think I’ll be more than happy with my Tremor.

I also hate all of the square design elements.

So they say to select one of the cab choices?

(Probably going to get into trouble with this one... but here goes. Afterall, it's just my opinion.)

I drive a '22 Colorado 8 hours a day for deliveries at work. Been driving the same truck since we got it brand new. It now has about 9K miles on it. Doesn't seem to be holding up well. And it's always had several things about it that I don't care for.

I don't like the engine noise. You can hear it 'buzzing' around under the hood even with the radio on. The dash is butt ugly. Looks like it was pieced together from extra parts left over from various test sessions. And... that frickin' ON STAR button on the rearview mirror... Can't tell you how many times I've accidentally pressed it while adjusting the mirror. Then you have to tell the operator that it was a mistake and you pressed it by accident. The truck just feels cheap.

It has the 4-cylinder engine (non-turbo) with 6-speed auto. Won't get out of its own way.

There are a couple of things that are nice though. It has a nice radio/touchscreen. Organized very well. And it has a factory tailgate dampener.

Getting out of this truck and into my '22 Ranger at the end of my shift is like night and day. The Ranger rides better, drives better, is quieter, and is much, much, quicker. Feels really nimble compared to the Chevy. The seats are more comfortable too.

Anyway... Both trucks are very similar. Both are super cabs. Both are 4-cylinder with auto. But the Ranger has a much better build quality than the Colorado.

The reason I went Ranger over Colorado / Canyon was payload. The Ranger was the only small truck with 1800lbs of payload. I always buy the smallest cab and longest bed I can get. It’s called a pickup. If I needed something besides a pickup, I’d buy something else.

Do we think fuel-economy will be similar to the current Silverado with 2.7? How does the 2.7/8 speed drive vs our 2.3/10 speed?

I really like the Trail Boss spec; capable and subtle, very good price point, and they look awesome with the wider stance over the z71.

The interior room is tough with this segment, I would really like to know how they maximized the space, hard to tell with the photos. +1 for Tremor that I didn't pay extra for losing cloth seats, looks like that's a pricey upgrade on the Colorado.

The last gen was a decent offering.

A few things on the Ranger, besides being a Ford, made me choose it over the ZR-2. Powertrain, technology, and interior were chief among them.

When I'm ready for a new truck I'll give them a look. I've got a type, but I don't discriminate.

My ZR1 build came to $43,850 .
I do like the drivers seat memory option then there's this .

EZ-LIFT AND LOWER TAILGATE
  • Raises and lowers the tailgate with reduced effort thanks to the assist of an internal torsion bar

I noticed it was only $395 to opt for the High Output version of the engine with 430 tq.

Less than an aftermarket tuner.

This truck looks intriguing, but having been burned by the General before, I'll at least wait a couple years to see what boondoggles they unleash on the Gotta Get It First crowd before I even consider it.

It also appears to be slightly larger than the current Ranger and that is a No-Go for me as my Ranger borders on being too big.

Previous version of ZR2 got terrible MPG numbers as well.

Shame they didn't put LED headlights on the Trail Boss.

Looks like Chevy has upped their game in tech/appearance. I'd cross shop the Colorado if currently in the market for a new truck. Curious if Chevy has an extended wait for delivery like the Ranger?

I dig the interiors of the new colorado's, especially if they offer a heated steering wheel and ventilated seats...but if memory serves I don't recall GM's turbo engines having that great of a track record... also I'm bummed they're dropping the baby diesel (love the idea in theory, again haven't heard the greatest things about them)
