I like the new Colorado a lot and the in-tailgate storage. The pricing is pretty competitive from what I saw. Midsize competition will be strong these next few years with new Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado/ Canyon, presumably ridgeline, and an offering from Ram is surely on the way.

Not sure I'm following. The Ranger has 310/tq stock and the FPT only adds 60/tq. So the HO is 430 stock and adding the FPT would be 370.

No matter which way you look at it the HO does have more tq than our Rangers do.
Yeah, I was off.

I guess while I knew the FP tune was weak, I didn't realize how weak.

While the FP tune might not get it there, it looks to me as though a 2.3 EB with the Livernois 93 performance tune will virtually match the HO 2.7. Slightly more hrsprs and slightly less torques.
With Chevy listing 310/430 at the crank and Livernois listing 306/379 at the wheels

At any rate I'd expect Ford to up the 2.3's output to compete going forward.

Looked at the Chevy in 2020 (when I bought my Ranger). Problem I had was Chevy doesn't realize that not everyone wants a lifted truck. To get a Lariat type trim Chevy, you have to get a 2" lift. My 80 year old mother needed to use my truck, and this was a deal killer. I'm glad I bought the Ranger.

My paycheck can't keep pace with the prices of trucks if I were to buy a feature equivlant model.

I would have to downgrade features/trim levels if I wanted to stay at near the price point of the current truck. I was reading an article the other day, and I don't remember the details, but supposedly F150's have increased 40% in 2 years.

TWO YEARS.

We all know what contributed to this, but at the end of the day the CAUSE is irrelevant, as the consumer all we know is two key points; 40% and two years.

Look at the lightning $8,000+ increase.

Couple this with dealership "market adjustments".

You guys have not seen anything yet.

Back in the day having a car payment as much as a mortgage payment was reserved for the wealthy (who didn't outright buy) - now it is becoming the norm.

Honestly, you can buy a well equipped 5 series BMW for less than a similarly equipped Lariat F150 and that’s no joke.
