So I thought this would never happen because I have the revised transmission, but with only around 35k miles here’s what it did:
Started shifting roughly and slipping to 4K+ on upshifts
Hunted for gears going down a straight, flat road
Eventually got so hot trans fluid started coming out of the unit and coated the pan with a bad smell.
Took it to the dealer and after some diag, they say the CDF Drum has moved and the unit needs rebuilt.
What causes the CDF Drum to move on the newer 10R80 units? I thought this was corrected post 2022-2023 and I have a rebuilt unit.
Stock tire size, no mods, tires still have 75% life left (look like they still came out of the factory) so I’m not working this thing too hard.
What gives? Truck will be out of service for a while.
