Wife was out with the truck, brakes failed as she was close to home.
Called the dealer who told me to call roadside, which is now here to bring the truck to the dealer.
Everyone is good, no accident.
I just checked the brake fluid & it way below min. Something must be loose & lost fluid.
Unfortunately it's raining out & it's all wet under the truck so I can't crawl under to
see what/where it's leaking.
I'll find out tomorrow when they call me.

Now my wife will be worried when she'll take the truck... oh well.

All I have to say is... Hmmmm @ 5000km?
Actually, any time is a bad time to lose your brakes.

EDIT - Only been driven on road, paved roads....
Oh & it's stock, never touched the wheels , nadda, nothing...
Oh, yea & no autoX or lapping with it either.

Fixed!!!!

Front brake hose was rubbing against mag.
We now know it takes 3000 miles to go through the front brake hose.
Wheels were never off.
No idea how it happened?
I'll go with damaged in transport.
New hose will come in next week, will have a loner, Escape.

My question is, we pay for them to do prep work before delivery to us, right, so they should have caught this.

So, what does the forum say?
1 - Cause?
2 - Delership responsibility?

Considering it was life threatening..... id talk with a lawyer to see if you have a case. There are some places where you’re fk’d if your breaks fail. This shouldnt just be ignored and let go.

For the brake to rub on the wheel, it would have to have been REALLY improperly installed. I'd ask for pictures of the line when it got delivered by roadside. If there aren't any pictures they are covering something up as you absolutely have to have CYA pics of something like this.

Ford as a company can’t get braking right, i have already drained the fluid went with a higher quality, and replaced the lines with steel braid, next will be a full upgrade to after market. the minor upgrade on braided line and fluid have been noticeable, so I’m going to see how far i can get. My f150 was worse than this so i consider This an upgrade ?.

I've had mine in for no fewer than 5 rear brake jobs, it's still not right, but it's "better" and doesn't shudder so much anymore. (They basically waited me out as I could no longer fight with them financially)

Please provide details on how the driver discovered the bad brakes. AFAIK modern braking systems are split just for this scenario. That way you won't lose all braking if a wheel brake line bursts.

you lose all braking if there's no fluid left to pump the remaining 3. There's not a consumer vehicle that I know of that has more than one fluid reservoir, and without a low sensor, you have no idea until it just no longer works.

Sure... feed the lawyers and sue Ford for an accident that didn't happen. Then complain why the cost of vehicles and other things by major corporations get so dang expensive.

Oh, so because of their incompetence we just wait until people drive off a cliff until we care? Cool. Hopefully, this is an isolated incident and not something that becomes common because last year Ford was attempting to cut cost due to the pandemic, assuming it was a manufacturer defect.
