I've heard adding a power port to the bed is a pretty good "mod"...

I'm really not sold on these things. They look like they could be handy in the right circumstances, but also a hassle for most typical things.

Do they quick release to get them out of the way if you need to remove them for larger, longer items?
Yes, tilt at 45 degrees and lift it out. I have already used that feature two times in the past month while getting lumber.
Load the lumber in, tie it down and then drop the bed extender back into position.

Great stuff so far! Regarding the bedliners, I passed on the Ford factory spray-in liner because it cost more than the local Rhino liner place (which now sounds like maybe not the place to go), and because of some videos I saw of easily it can be removed. Sounds like my best pro options at this point will either be Rhino or Line-X. There've been a couple of votes for Line-X already--anybody else have strong feelings one way or the other?
I have no experience with line x but I do have my restored jeep rhino lined (inside and under the tub / fenders). I like it because its a bit softer to the touch / no scraped knuckles. I don't know how it holds up in a truck bed though. And full disclosure, my jeep doesn't sit outside in the sun much, it's garaged and doesn't see snow / salt.

An aftermarket tune, hands down.
So I'm probably opening up a can of worms here, but I've seen this tuning stuff mentioned enough that I'm curious. So when people on here with more mechanical savvy than me use the word "tune," they're not talking about an actual mechanical tune-up, right? These tunes are about reprogramming the onboard computer in some way to change the overall engine/transmission performance?

If so, would a tune improve performance for a truck that's going to be used 99% of the time for flat in-town or highway driving?

Also, do third-party tunes affect the Ford warranty?

(I'm learning something new every day from y'all.)

What about catch cans or simply just allowing the engine to vent outside, like engines used to?
And please don't give me some BS comment about the environment. I don't want to tune this post into some treehugger war. Lol

I would recommend a premium linex spray in liner. I had the standard one in my F150 and they fade and it's harder to clean, however, it was still an awesome bed liner. The premium is just a bit higher, but has UV protection and it keeps it's luster and is much easier to clean. They have a higher priced one (platinum), that supposedly is a higher UV protection, but can't advise on that one. I am putting the premium on my new Ranger as soon as they can get me in.

Your description of a tune is correct. The Ford Performance one let's you maintain some warranty coverage. Any aftermarket tune is going to be difficult to defend against if you end up with powertrain issues.

There are plenty of threads on here for each one. I'd read them carefully before purchasing. They do provide a nice performance bump and the shift pattern difference is usually the most talked about improvement.

I don't know if they are still putting those long antennas on the 2021 Rangers but in the event they do you might consider a CravenSpeed Stubby Jr antenna if you don't like the long one. Just mentioning it since you asked. It was the first thing I did to my Ranger.

Of course I have seen some people here never even knew there was one and it turned out the factory antenna was in the glove box.

Oh and when you get yours check the tire pressure and washer fluid. It seems there have been some issues with pre-delivery inspections. :)

I hope you enjoy your new Ranger! I love mine.
I never new I needed a stubby jr. until now, thank you ?

Whether it is a mod or addition, Make the truck comfortable and your own. Some of the simplest things are the most useful.

A 2X8 across the bed as a simple divider.
The Trekstep from Bestop, a under the bumper retractable step. perfect for kids and short people.
A power port plug with the word "Ejection" in red. will bring a smile to your face every time you see it.
Adding a couple of extra tie downs into the bed, however you get or make them.

I also added the husky floor liners and mud flaps, I tinted the drivers and passengers windows to match the rear windows.

Protecting your front end and leading edges is important, the Ranger's paint is very thin, either have PPF plastic protective film installed on the leading edges or get a good ceramic coating.

Keep track of what you spend, It will always be more then you planned, ask us, We can help you spend even more.

I’ve ran LMS tunes on several vehicles, I drive fairly ‘spirited’, and zero issues or concerns over the years. Each owner has to assess their needs and risk tolerance though.

I used to have one on my sport trac. It was great, when it was folded in it created a nice place to keep groceries, and when it was folded out gave me almost a six foot bed. Plus I could run lumber through the openings to keep it in place.
